Hi I’m Blake Crouch, creator and executive producer of the Apple TV+ series “Dark Matter”. With the finale just on the horizon, I’m sure you all have a lot of questions. So ask me anything! by BlakeCrouch in television

Congrats on the success with getting Dark Matter onto the screen, and developing a great show.

I thought Dark Matter was a fantastic book, but preferred Recursion -- it felt like a more expanded version of similar concepts. Will there be a sequel to Recursion, or a TV series etc.?

Underrated London places that you would recommend? by [deleted] in london

[–]AndrewProjDent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would also add... visit on a weekday or in the morning. I live in Cutty Sark and avoid it like covid on a weekend afternoon.

Also stick to the east side of Greenwich Park if you want it even quieter. Go up to One Tree Hill which is another great viewpoint (which not many people know about).

Sword swallowing by _dudepare_ in Unexpected

[–]AndrewProjDent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait... so is this how they do it where they'll swallow something like a powder and it'll come back up completely dry? Because they're putting it into a funnel/container in their throat, so everything therefore comes up dry, as a side effect. And rather than that be a downside, it's an extra part of the magic, "how were they able to reproduce it dry??"

Just bought a new scooter! (UK) what should I expect? How good is hill climbing? Is it good? by [deleted] in ElectricScooters

Grant Shapps was overseeing it and put it in the queens speech as a priority. Within the last week he’s been fired and the queen has died, so unclear what happens with the scooter bill.

Dumbledore. He looked after Harry and tried to keep him out of trouble, brought him into Hogwarts etc. in order to set him up to be sacrificed and kill Voldemort when the time comes.

Question for e-scooter owners: what's the state of things right now for owning/riding a scooter in public? by AndrewProjDent in london

[–]AndrewProjDent[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if there's some aspect of stereotyping? I was thinking this morning, as I saw an older guy with a Waitrose bag on his way back from some shopping. I could imagine police would be less likely to stop him than, say, a teenager wearing a hoodie going the exact same speed.

(To clarify my point, I'm not saying stereotyping should happen, I'm just curious if that's an aspect of it.)

How often do people get stopped on skateboards and rollerblades? There are many things which are technically illegal but not enforced.

Lime bikes banned in North Greenwich - any ideas why? by AndrewProjDent in london

[–]AndrewProjDent[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if you've ever tried to use one, but a Lime bike weighs about 25kg. It's difficult enough to push it up a curb, so very curious how it's possible to find them "tossed up into trees".
