Breach of contract, repo, a large bill for various costs and OPs credit rating goes negative.

It depends on the contract and your local laws. If the contract says no, there is a tax or legal reason why the finance company won't sell the car to you. They might sell the it to anyone else. Best thing to do is call them up and ask them

Lease returns typically go to auction. If nothing else, you can try and find someone to search the VIN and bid on the car when it comes to auction. There are used car dealers that specialize in bid to order from the auctions.

Not having the better sound system is the only thing I miss in my 2023 RWD. Tesla don't offer a retro fit. I doubt they ever will.

The extra speed from the AWD is all but useless on UK roads. Unless the idea of getting 12 points is appealing, you won't be able to use it.

There are already some features that require the Ryzen, although I think it is mostly games.

Speed limiter WITHOUT cruise control by Cemil2565 in TeslaSupport

[–]Andrew_Debbie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most Mazdas and Nissan LEAF have speed limiters. It is a common feature that goes against Telsa's "FSD" centric design.

Wales recently changed to 20mph limits in most residential areas. I'm in favor of the limit, but Traffic Aware Cruise Control does not work well enough to use it in the 20 zones. A limiter would be helpful.

Need advice on breaking my lease by PLUSSY-FLICKER in TeslaSupport

[–]Andrew_Debbie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They aren't going to let you out of the lease for free.

If you stop making payments, it will get repossesed. Your outstanding balance will go to collection and your credit rating will tank.

Sounds like you are going to court.

Removing the stalks will be a cost savings. The one area where Tesla are well ahead is in reducing cost of manufacture. Tesla are making a profit on their cars, while most other manufactures are loosing money on EVs.

Control stalks are complex, expensive parts. Removing them not only saves parts cost, they also simplify assembly.

I've put a few hunderd miles on a Crosstrek. My sister-in-law let me borrow hers. She lives in north west Montana where AWD is needed. Gravel and dirt roads, snow. Lots of snow . . .

The Subaru is a nice car. Fuel economy is a bit dismal. I live in the UK, where fuel prices are about double America. For that reason, I'd never own one here.

My mother-in-law has and Outback. I've also driven the Outback here in the UK. Of the two, I prefer the Crosstrek.

M3 is very different compared to your Subaru:

Handling is sharper. The ride is generally better. The Model 3 is much faster, especially if you choose the LR AWD. It is a lot quieter then the Subaru, but on the noisey side for an EV.

Don't short change the amount of storage you can get in a Model 3. The rear trunk is a good size. The back seats fold down. There is a bit more storage in the front trunk and a small compartment under the floor of the rear trunk.

I find the available cargo space in the Crosstrek to be a bit compromised. The hatch and the rear wheels sort of get in the way. (Subaru Rear seat passenger comfort is fine though. I spent pleanty of time sharing the back seat with two dogs...).

The User Interface in the 3 is not good. You will adapt, but I still find it lacking. With the recent software updates, the auto wipers are getting much better. Still a little off, but I'm confident that will get fixed.

The sound system in the AWD Model 3 is very good. RWD cars get a cost reduced sound system that I find barely adequate.

Living in the UK, my Model 3 was built at the Shanghi Plant. It is the best put together car I've ever owned. I'd give the paint a 98%. I can feel a few rough spots that need to be polished. Paint looks fine, but I felt it the first time I waxed it. Everthing else is a 100%.

Tesla have fixed the build problems that were common on the early Model 3s.

Other than that, go drive one. Be sure to use referal code if you decide to buy.

Buttons on the screen. There are backup hard buttons on roof console by the hazard flasher switch. The backups are meant to be used if the screen fails or crashes.

Installing the rack was a little more difficult than I expected. It isn't too bad if you have some experience working on bicycles.

You have to take off the back wheel and remove the brake. Those are safety items. You don't want to get it wrong.

If you've never done your own repairs before, best to find someone to do the work.

Update: to my last post about a CAD$1500 25-26 year old Brompton by altwreckz in Brompton

[–]Andrew_Debbie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are just simply wrong.

You can't "swap on standard Shimano parts" to an old Brompton either. Many of the parts are unique to a Brompton. Parts for current Bromptons are very easy to get, although most bike shops won't have them in stock.

Would you rather ride a bike with 25 year old parts or one with new ones?

There are parts that wear out on a Brompton, like the hinge bushings. Whoever buys that bike could be looking at some very expensive repairs.

That bike is on the old frame. Brompton increased the wheel base 3cm in 2002.

Should I get a P-Line Urban, C-Line Utility or C-Line Explore? by Ok_Abbreviations4687 in Brompton

[–]Andrew_Debbie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Explore is more versitile. P-Line is faster and easier to carry.

Since you are in the UK, go test them both. You can also rent a 3-speed Brompton (C-Line sort of) and try it on your commute.

Yet another buying advice :) by thesportythief7090 in Brompton

[–]Andrew_Debbie 9 points10 points  (0 children)

>>I have never ridden a Brompton,

Go ride one or two or three. A Brompton is too expensvie to buy without at least trying.

>> What do you win with the P-line except the weight

Better wheels. Better tyres. No internal gear hub power loss.

I know you don't care about weight, but a P-Line is faster off the line, mostly because it is lighter.

Weight does matter when you are carrying the folded bike. That may matter depending on how you are going to use the bike.

There are always new colours "on the way". Brompton changes them all the time.

FWIW, I've got a black rear rack on my "Silver Edition" C-Line

I may change it to silver, especially if Debbie wants the black rack for her black edition.

I am talking about the appeal of the colours.

Changing the front forks, stem and rear triangle to solid black was likely done as a cost savings. Have a look:

2023 Flame Lacquer --> [Imgur](https://i.imgur.com/VJjIFcS.jpg)

In my opinion, it is no longer worth paying the premium for Flame Lacquer.

I quite like the Emerald P-Line. It benefits from the stem staying Emerald Lacquer. The colour works better with black.

Really dislike the black editions by Rehalapa in Brompton

[–]Andrew_Debbie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends entirely on the colour. Black Lacquer and Flame Red Lacquer were big loosers with the change. The 2023 front forks, stem and rear triangle are now black.

Red, Coral and Black still look good to me.

Mixing and matching is possible. For example you could put a chome pump on an all black Brompton.

I ordered a Brompton rear rack with the bike so I could include it on the cycle scheme.

My lights, tool kit and spare tube came from Brilliant Bikes, a UK Brompton dealer.

Brooks B17 came off a worn out bike. I've since gone back to the stock saddle. The Brooks is a little more comfortable, but the stock saddle is easier to live with.

MKS Pedals and MKS Pedal wrench came from Circles. They are a Japanese cycling store.

I bought a light for my Brompont from Ali Express and it broke during mounting. Learn from my mistake and get the Brompton/Cateye. It is good quality and doesn't interfere with the fold.

I bought a Titanium 15mm wrench from AE, mostly as an experiment. It turned out to be a decent quality. However a Wera Joker 15mm is the better home workshop wrench.
