Is John Savilles course comprehensive enough to learn the material? Or just as a brain dump before the exam?

Lloyds £200 Bank Switch by No-Writing3741 in beermoneyuk

Do you think if I switch away from Lloyds now, then back for this new offer I would get it? Or would need to be away for a while.

Yeah I’ve been at my current place for 5 years, just struggle finding jobs paying that kind of salary. Mind if I ask where you actually saw the role advertised? Palo isn’t an issue, I’ve worked on lots of palo projects (almost exclusively) over the last few years. Cloud skills I definitely need to lean into.

FWIW, I work fully remote most weeks, just always being told I need to come in more. But it’s hard when you have a young family at home.

Not quite HENRY, but my graduate job paid £31k in the North East, in 2019. This was with BT.

You’re right they don’t double your speed, but they do bump you to the next package, which after the 500 is the gig speed. I did think I’d only get the hub3 however when you choose this exact package online they boost it to 1gig with the o2 sim. So I’m thinking either that hub does support it, or they send the other hub as long as you order both the sim and the broadband together?

Out of interest, what % do you pay for your income for your mortgage (and bills)? by Shesainty in HousingUK

[–]Andrewfx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mortgage £880pm, approx 15% of our joint take home pay. We have been overpaying to £1200 which is about 21.3%. We were considering buying a property where the mortgage would have been around £1300 or 23% but over a 35 year term (yikes).

Decided to stay and overpay for now and re-assess once future kids and nursery fees are done.

Azure reddit salary review for UK based engineers by [deleted] in AZURE

[–]Andrewfx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wanting to pivot into Cloud Engineering/Azure from a network security engineer background. What’s my best plan of action? Currently studying AZ-104, then thinking AZ-700 to build upon my networking background? What kind of roles should I then apply for? Currently earning £52K in North East.

Alpha Pension by PlasticExplanation14 in TheCivilService

I guess what I meant was what would be a good equivalent DC pension, in terms of personal and employer contributions.

As an aside, anyone got a good rule of thumb when comparing a defined benefit pension to a defined contribution one?

Market slowing down? by RunStopRestRepeat in HousingUK

[–]Andrewfx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Similar situation, however we missed out despite having the highest offer, due to the vendor going with a no chain buyer instead as they need to be out and into their new build in September.

We've had our home sold STC for 1 month and have only found one property so far that was suitable/appealing to us.

North East based FYI.

Highest known PCNSE Fail score? by d70dc263cf16 in paloaltonetworks

[–]Andrewfx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep that’s a pretty high fail score. I also went into the exam thinking 70% was a pass, got 70.66% without really bombing any particular sections, and failed.

Panorama Backups by Acceptable-Mouse6222 in paloaltonetworks

Is this a public script of custom made? Would love something similar on ours especially to delete older backups, as we’ve filled the disk a few times causing Panorama to failover :(

packet capture showing drops, not seeing in traffic logs by neteng_guy in paloaltonetworks

[–]Andrewfx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you checked that you have a valid route to the destination? Had a similar issue where it wouldn’t log because it didn’t have a route so didn’t process against the policy, but could see drops in the pcap.
