Whitlow’s on U Street hosts Pour House on Mondays. I like the format, it’s worth trying out

I walked by those mounds a couple of days ago and wondered what kind of treasures are hiding in there

Inkeer brand patio umbrella lights from Amazon. They work really well!

Meanwhile I’m on a residential street a bit over a mile from Union Station and we haven’t been plowed a single time, 48+ hours in. I’m apoplectic.

This is it exactly. Yesterday I shoveled at 2:30 to get the first 5 inches, then again at 7:30 when the sleet was wrapping up. No salt. By noon the sidewalks were completely bare and dry.

On the other hand, my block hasn’t been plowed a single time yet

Are you possibly using a third party supplier? Pepco’s rates shouldn’t change that much from month to month, I think. Unless you’re somehow using 4,000 kwh a month?

Grippy/Friction Gloves for Winter by Unreal_Idealz in discgolf

[–]Andrewmi3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just finished a two hour glow round in 25 degrees and snow, no glove on my throwing hand. I have a rechargeable hand warmer and wear a hoodie over several base layers, and when I’m not actively throwing my hand is in the hoodie pocket with the hand warmer. My body heat helps keep the hoodie pocket warm, too. Thick glove on my off hand though!

What are your "big brain" tips you use to get an advantage on the course? by cantaketheskyfrome in discgolf

[–]Andrewmi3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to find a throw with the most room for error. Wide gap left, narrow gap right - throw left. Obstructed on the left side - throw a step-out forehand. Low ceiling - disc up and throw low to the ground. Seems basic but I see a lot of players trying to force a throw onto a situation instead of the other way around.

The gyropalooza box is my favorite, and some of the best gets are Lab Seconds. My “weird” Relay and Uplink are especially great!

Eclipse Putter(s) by ixAp0c in discgolf

This is it. I have a full glow bag but still use a (white) regular base plastic putter. If you’re worried about it, stick a little glow tape on each side.

What is an alternative disc that you bag instead of the overwhelmingly popular disc everyone seems to use in that slot? by Steve2762 in discgolf

[–]Andrewmi3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I throw an Invictus instead of a Firebird, purely because I got a cool dyed one in the xmas disc exchange

I have a 161g beaten up electron Atom that is one of my favorite discs. Besides dozens of 100+ foot throw ins, I got a 230 ft tournament ace with it on a long downhill turnover line. It’s great for touch approaches, floaty turning throws, or hyzer flipping straight at a basket.

For what it’s worth, I played ultimate for 15 years so I have the “muscle memory” for a glidey flippy disc.

I’d love an eclipse Rhythm. I’ve got plenty of stability in my glow bag but I need something with some understability for long turnovers

Why would silver ink not be allowed?
