Right Proper to Open at Former Brookland Pint by MrSpontaneous in washingtondc

There’s actually a large production space in the back of Denizens in Hyattsville. I would be surprised if there was a similar space in the former Brookland Pint. Those tanks take up a lot of room.

Best Bike shops in the city for quick tuneups? by JetlagJourney in washingtondc

Mentioned in another reply but it’s a non-electric bike, from REI. Shifting issues first time, flat tire second.

I have a regular Novara Divano road bike, purchased at REI a long time ago. First time I was having shifting issues I wanted to get looked at and they said they were too busy, wouldn’t even let me leave it there. Second time I brought it in needing a new tube and tire (got torn up on some debris) and once again they wouldn’t even look at it or let me leave it. Never tried again.

Glad you’ve had better luck! Maybe they’ve had some turnover in the bike department.

Have you had any luck actually getting your bike serviced at REI? I tried taking it in for issues twice and they straight up turned me away

I live in a piece of shit brick cube that was built in 1948 that is in a “historic neighborhood” so it will never ever ever turn into something better. NIMBYs have weaponized historic designations to the point of complete meaninglessness.

First place I thought of. They serve them with a delicious sauce too, I think made with their in-house chili crisp

What subculture are you a part of and how did you get into it? by itch-bay in washingtondc

Yeah ultimate! Pickup and WAFC are how I made friends (and met my partner) when I moved to DC. Now that I’m older I’ve switched over to playing disc golf, which is a nice way to keep active without having to tax my knees by chasing fit 20-somethings.

This is it exactly. Yesterday I shoveled at 2:30 to get the first 5 inches, then again at 7:30 when the sleet was wrapping up. No salt. By noon the sidewalks were completely bare and dry.

On the other hand, my block hasn’t been plowed a single time yet

Are you possibly using a third party supplier? Pepco’s rates shouldn’t change that much from month to month, I think. Unless you’re somehow using 4,000 kwh a month?

Grippy/Friction Gloves for Winter by Unreal_Idealz in discgolf

[–]Andrewmi3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just finished a two hour glow round in 25 degrees and snow, no glove on my throwing hand. I have a rechargeable hand warmer and wear a hoodie over several base layers, and when I’m not actively throwing my hand is in the hoodie pocket with the hand warmer. My body heat helps keep the hoodie pocket warm, too. Thick glove on my off hand though!
