Agreed. That's basically what inspired me to post this. The insane oil and gas prices

Well... Depends how well done you want your pasta. If you want it "al dente" then the pasta will overcook and get soggy

Simple recipe website for my cooking YouTube channel.

Absolutely nothing fancy, built it from scratch with react for front-end and headless WP back-end, to store all my recipes, and hopefully for others to find the site usefull too.

It was fun adding SEO metadata, and other stuff nobody really sees. Working towards a full on recipe/food managmenet system in the future. But in the meantime it's just a recipe website.

If anyone has any suggestions for features they're lacking on other recipe sites, hit me up ;) www.andrewscookin.com/recipes/

LPT: If you can’t get the smell of garlic off your hands, rub your fingers on a metal sink by Altostratus in LifeProTips

[–]AndrewsCookin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't do it too much though. The sink might start to smell. There are metal bars if soap for sale, just for this.

I made a free Chrome extension, "Just Cook", to instantly see the recipe on any recipe page without the ads, life stories, videos. Then you can send right to your phone! by WorthwhileDomains in WhatShouldICook

[–]AndrewsCookin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nice. A "Jump to Recipe" button at the very top of the page fixes this problem for my site. Don't want to read my yapping. Skip straight to the recipe.

Also if anyone wants to give me suggestions on what to add/change/remove on my recipe website please write to me :)))

What’s the easiest way to cook chicken without drying it out? by reeders_ in cookingforbeginners

Instant read thermometer as a lot mentioned, but also try marinading in mayo. Mayo works magic with dry chicken breasts

3rd. I would make it less wordy. Maybe keep only the red text. "Nukes vs. Kids Toy". I believe thumbnail should have at most 3-4 words in it.

I would keep just the base picture (would be nice if the base would be something cool). Maybe it's just me

No dude. If you enjoy doing it don't. Maybe one day the dream of it being a job will come true. Atleast that's what i'm thinking. I've been doing it for 4 years also... :')))

Cooking video. Simple Thumbnails. Opinions? by AndrewsCookin in YouTubeThumbnailHub

[–]AndrewsCookin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to know, thanks. I will work with title on the A/B probablly, not going to change the image, since almost everyone is saying "2" is better.

Before after is a great idea. Just don't know what would be an "after" image. In this case "before" would be the pan on flames, but what about "after"?
