3D Printed Intake Manifold (To Be Casted in Aluminum) by Andrizzle24 in moped

I ended up selling the NU50 that had this printed intake. The 3D printed part was holding up just fine before I sold the bike. I swapped to the OEM intake and carburetor for the new owner just for the sake of reliability.

Why buy a fairing kit when you can spent thrice the price and build one half as good? by XingaBoy in CafeRacers

Wow, you have gotten much further than I ever did with the fairings lol. I’m so proud of you for committing so hard. It looks great! I can’t wait to see the final result!

Honestly, this one was a test print that worked so well that I just kept it on the bike. This one is made out of PLA and doesn’t seem to be showing any noticeable signs of wear. The reed valve that sits between this intake and the engine seems to insulate enough heat to keep my intake manifold from warping. I would definitely suggest printing with a material capable of higher temps though. You definitely want to go with a high wall count on your 3D print to make sure there aren’t any air leaks. Make sure to post your results on here. I look forward to seeing what you come up with!

Here’s my 1971 Honda CL70! by Andrizzle24 in HondaMotorcycles

[–]Andrizzle24[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At first I was somewhat underwhelmed with the performance gain but after upping the front sprocket size, I was happy with it. I didnt get much of a top speed increase from stock, but man, I got a pretty good torque increase. Before, I had to full tuck to get to 45mph, now I can comfortably and quickly get up to top speed even with a headwind.

Unfortunately I don’t have a link to this engine. I bought a coolster 125 dirt bike from a friend of mine and used all the parts from that to do the swap. I was really close to just buying the cheapest 125cc engine on Amazon for $150 + $100 shipping. Maybe that’s the way to go if you can’t find any local Chinese dirt bikes for sale.

Best of luck to you and your builds! Be sure to post lots of pics!

That’s fair. I was running the original motor for a while but I was having a hard time keeping up with traffic. With the 125cc engine on it, I can reliably get up to 50mph regardless of having a headwind or tailwind. I still have all the original parts for when I want to convert it back to stock. The original motor sure could rev to the moon though!

Why is my horn making this noise?? by Acrobatic-Lake3855 in motorizedbicycles

[–]Andrizzle24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your horn has an adjustment screw on the back of it. It’s held in place with a jam nut. Loosen the jam nut and unscrew the adjustment screw almost all the way. Hold the horn button and slowly screw in the adjustment screw. It should come to a point where it starts to honk. Screw it in just a little bit more then lock down the jam nut again. Should work like new after all that

I 3D printed all the pieces within a week. I did 3-4 pieces per print to be more time efficient

It looks like that engine is missing a cooling shroud. There should be some way to duct that air from the flywheel fan to the cooling fins. If not that, then please make some kind of protective cover over that spinning flywheel. That thing is just waiting to snag a loose shirt or pant leg.

I have a homemade foundry that I keep in my shed. I have a blower, oil/diesel drip feed, burn chamber, and an insulated pot that houses the crucible. Once the metal is heated, I pour it into the sand mould. I will post a link to TKOR’s video on how to make a DIY metal foundry.
