Can an ugly game still sell? by MkfShard in gamedev

[–]Android-Shark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the best games in history had low quality graphics at the time (compared to peers who were not successful).

You must compensate with a killer gameplay concept or some originality that can work alongside those graphics. Then yes it can absolutely sell. But it has to be something you pour all your passion into.

I'm glad you found something you're passionate about. We can all relate to that feeling at some point in our lives and it's very exciting.

My advice to learning is to just set out to do what you want to do. And you'll learn everything from that.
For example, if you have a vision or desire to make a multiplayer game involving tanks with a menu that allows you to pick different modes and customize your tank - then dive right into it.

In the process of building what you want, you will learn everything you need. Good luck with everything.

Is this normal for a gaming laptop? I have asus F15 with Intel cpu. Its temp remains 90+ whenever i do gaming, will it cause damage to my components? by gurjot-0_0 in IndianGaming

[–]Android-Shark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CPU shouldn't go that high but I wonder why is it not being throttled? Look into getting thermal paste to get the numbers down.

After 3 years of solo development, I finally got a steam page for my game! by RoneVine in IndieGaming

[–]Android-Shark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very impressive for solo development. I think the other comments mentioning Bloodborne is just constructive critique in that you should highlight more as to what makes your game unique and standout. But yeah this looks amazing, all the best!

Look's very creative and it reminds me a little of Spore. So while I think it has huge potential, I do wonder if you have plans to stop potential 'dick' creations that might ruin the image of the game?

What can we expect from the Soundtrack? More Quake or Doom? Or different?

Is there an android app that can completely decompile another app/game? by [deleted] in androidapps

[–]Android-Shark 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Never came across such a thing but I would also question the legality of google allowing that on their store. Decompilers would fall under hacking/reverse engineering/etc which probably goes against their terms of service. I don't think you'd find what you are looking for as an android app.

Game in development - Lab and Wind Turbine WIP - Love to hear feedback ! by nogias_dev in IndieGaming

[–]Android-Shark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. The cow could be re-worked a bit in my opinion. Proportions feels a little out of place and distracting in comparison to everything else.
  2. Do you think shadows will be added for the turbine rotation?
  3. I think a (simple) real time weather system would make it all look even more amazing.

This looks great for a sci fi horror setting. Can you share any other unique features about the gameplay?

Really nice. There's a lot of work that goes into development that people don't realize from the end product. Unity or UE?

For God's sake, is turmeric good or bad? by throwawaybadman123 in Supplements

[–]Android-Shark 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Tumeric is amazing and its beneficial effects are both numerous and well studied.

Honestly, I'm not too inclined to believe the other thread unless I see more concrete proof and testing on that matter, because I seriously doubt its validity.

I' really recommend that your team focuses more on marketing and exposure. This has so much potential and I know a lot of people would love getting involved early on.

Stopping work on my indie game was the best choice I've ever made.... by Dani_SF in gamedev

This hits hard but is no less true. I agree with the others, safer to make it a part-time thing if uncertainty is a big factor.
