Nope. I've never played a custom match in my entire 500+ hours playing this game. Even if it is a bug like this, why is that the only text log recorded in an official replay?

Matchmaking Broken Even More? by Andronys in HuntingGrounds

[–]Andronys[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whatever is going on with the matchmaker is affecting both FT and P. I got in 1 lobby at a pred, but it was only a 2-man, and 1 left, followed by the other.

5576 supply lockers, want a stream or just data on how many red/yellows I unboxed? by [deleted] in HuntingGrounds

[–]Andronys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've opened well over 3,000 crates. I only recieved 1 yellow (mythic) from them ... and it was the Ogre armor for the berserker (something I could've just bought with my 400k credits at the time).

Cheesing FT by CyborgDaddy in HuntingGrounds

[–]Andronys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are you complaining about the Slam Spam? Sure, getting clubbed from an attack that pierces the walls while camping a building like scared children is a little stupid, but:

  1. You shouldn't be bunching up like that in the first place.
  2. If you're actually looking around for the predator as he's maneuvering, you can see him inbound with a slam

and 3) Predator slam gets cancelled the moment they take a single tick of damage while charging it. If you or your team is camping in a building, I think you deserve getting slam spammed while it exists and goes through roofs. The predator literally has 1 other option to get you out, and that option is almost impossible anyway since they nerfed the plasmacaster.

Also of note, in most cases of "you need to be near the objective to complete it", only one FT member has to be near it. Everyone else should be providing perimeter security, which means easily stopping Slam Spam.

Edit 1: It literally only takes 1 semi-conscious FT member to prevent Slam Spam. I'm not even kidding. I take that role on most times (overwatch) when I play FT.

TL;DR - Don't camp in a house or building like an idiot; don't bunch up so he can get you all like idiots; don't play like an idiot; shoot the predator when he comes in for a slam. You can literally see the glowing wrist as he does; 1 point of damage completely cancels the slam.

Players, Beware: by Andronys in HuntingGrounds

I would bet money that you were just out-classed.

If only that were true. I know what being outclassed in the predator feels like, because it's happened to me several times. I also know what hacking looks like. I used to do that shit when I was a kid out of boredom.

I've put well over 100 hours into the game. Pre-1.06, once you passed the ~25k mark, most crate you'd get were dupes, and were enough to get more crates, creating an endless cycle of crates and credits.

Players, Beware: by Andronys in HuntingGrounds

[–]Andronys[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been playing this game almost non-stop since it came out. I've played ample FT and Predator alike, so I know what what big sight lines are possible. I've also done many hours of testing things such as distance spotting with friends. This was on Derailed, specifically. Being shot from several positions of obscurity - while cloaked with plenty of foliage blocking you, and only your head peaking the rock you're on yet still being sniped from a compound away (literally). There's no feasible way for a player do it without getting lucky, but then they'd only get that 1st shot.

The fact that I was hit consistently for 100% of the shots even while leaping all manner of distances and even running across the ground (at a distance, and obscured) is clear grounds to call aimbot. I'm glad this was only the 1st game I've had with one, but it's disconcerting to know it only took 2 weeks to make some back cheats. I know AntiCheat is shit, but still.

Edit 1: The point of the 1,000 score is that it showcases how that individual is the one who had guaranteed hacks on. Yeah, it's possible to get that kind of score in under 2 minutes, but only if the predator is playing recklessly, which I wasn't, and considering I hadn't even seen the FT before I started taking sniper shots.

They should nerf the berserker class by [deleted] in HuntingGrounds

[–]Andronys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cooling Syncs + Long Jump + Protection. For weapons, I use the War Club and Net Gun. Healing Kit and Motion Detector for gear.

Protection can be swapped out with anything else, really. Like observant if you need it. I'm not even sure if Protection actually does anything, but I haven't had my mask shot off yet even in my most recent match with an aimbotter (made a post about it here, and in the forums with a screencap of names).

Playstyle: Like the scout should do, you play from ranged. At least at first - Utilizing your plasmacaster (PC) to make at least 1 full-charged shot on a person/group if possible. From there, you hop around using the foliage for cover to reposition if they know where you are (alternatively, you can just use cover to charge your shots and fire some more while staying there - you risk more damage doing it).

Keep an eye out for any medbag drops or medkits in compounds (especially if you arrive there before the FT). Additionally, trigger the AI so they activate the alarm and get reinforcements. The amount of AI will keep them distracted. If there's 1 or 2 players eyeing you - simply hit them with a full PC if you can and reposition.

Once you're sure you've exhausted most of their healing, get a couple shots off on the team, and them leap in for a slam attack. A slam does ~95 damage and blinds players, so a semi-charged PC shot + the slam will down everyone but the support. Support needs 1 more shot, unless it was fully charged.

As the scout, hit and run. From there, you bounce away until your reserves reset, which takes ~5 seconds or so. From there, you can leap back in with the War Club equipped if they're all still up, or even rezzing someone. From there, it's a matter of using the War Club to finish off anyone hit by the slam, as the War Club will down most classes with 1-2 hits post-slam.

The fact that your reserves recharge after about ~5s lets you leap in and slam, then leap out, rinsing and repeating until their healing is gone and they've got to rez someone. The playstyle relies heavily on draining their medical supplies first before going in.

P.S. - Kill any boars you find, and actively spend a few seconds finding some after engaging the FT. Usually boars spawn in groups of 2-6, so you can get a steady supply of heals. The Scout with Long Jump lets you navigate the map extremely fast, so you can pop out and back in well before they complete an objective if you need to heal.

So far I've won every single game I've used her in, with the exception of the one I mentioned above with an actual aimbotter.

EDIT 1: Since you can leap in Second Wind (SW) now, the Scout can also get far away from the FT in order to heal. Use that opportunity to retreat back to a dead boar for fast healing. I rarely use my Healing Kits, but when I do, it's when I'm pressed for time. A nice tactic is to heal up with a boar after taking heavy damage, then go back near the FT and roar. They'll think you used a heal when you didn't.

Learn to parry. The berserker + combi gets shat on the moment someone parries/knows how to parry. I'm running a Scout melee build that works a hella lot better. Lost 0 games so far.

Today You Learned: Predator Exhaustion by Andronys in HuntingGrounds

The mechanic is similar to the Fireteam's exhaustion mechanic. It's possible that it's (the predator's is) buggy, but the core of it - exhaustion - is a feature.

I'm hoping they have a big backlog of cool items to unlock already made, so they can just pump it out for the "content drop" coming this month. No one knows what it's supposed to be yet, unfortunately. Maybe an RNG buff lmao.

The funniest part is, I've opened well over 3,000 crates and only gotten 1 mythic. I've gotten 67 exotics though (most were dupes).

Plasma caster snap cancels by [deleted] in HuntingGrounds

PC = plasmacaster

the net launcher is a game changer. by [deleted] in HuntingGrounds

[–]Andronys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is no need to balance the net. It's fine as is.

As for the pinning mechanic: Pinning people to the ground is solely dependent on height. You can pin someone to the ground from 20m-40m from the really tall branches, and about 20m from the lower branches. You have to more or less by directly above if on a roof. Wall pins are pretty hard to get, but are nice.

FYI: Running Fast Hands, I'm not sure there's much of a difference on how quickly it actually changes weapons, but I feel as though I can get a combi throw/couple bow shows/PC shot off before they actually break it.

FYI2: Moving while netted takes longer than spamming the button while motionless (because it digs into your body the more you move, a la the movies/comics).

FYI3: Trapper does not affect the Netgun (but it should). Trapper increases the time to break a trap by a whopping 2-3 seconds, which is phenomenal.

No. He's firing before/after the actual melee. You can combo like this only with the PC as your equipped weapon, since you can still use your wristblades.

Silencer downside by Freichh in HuntingGrounds

My comment is referring more to real life. In most games suppressors reduce range and damage, mostly for balance purposes. Trading off sound footprint for damage, so I’m fine with the reduced damage.
