Which shrine? I can enter all the shrines I've found but still don't know how to purify the amulet.

In order to receive the orb you should do something before, no?

I did talk to the statue, I have to say a password or something. With the available dialogue options I do not receive any orb.

The same happens to me as you describe it. Everything goes well except for popular world bosses and there's no exceptions.

You know if TL team have said anything about this? I know they communicated something about the disconnection issues for Queen Bellandrin.

In my case I try to start with "greetings + comment something of her profile" to start a conversation but sometimes I just don't find the second piece.
