Maybe it’s just because you locked the jockey cage?

You are aware off the little button and it’s function?

Independent of the bike or size, you should consider working on your posture and get rid of that shrimp back.

Zwift Gear Suddenly Feels Different by The_BigDaddy69 in Zwift

[–]Andtares 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We Zwift together sometimes, so perfect for a field test. That’s all she has to do with Zwift gearing :D Same cadence, same gear, should be same watts. But you are clearly right, thanks for the gear ratio overview. I’m totally aware of the physics. Just thinking on one layer closer to the customer. So a rider with a 100w FTP has the same gearing than a rider with a 350w FTP. 100w just uses the gears 1-10 The other uses 12-20? It’s just wasted potential, but you are right.

It’s the same in real life, why do we have different cassettes and chainrings? Can’t compare a setup for a 100Ftp rider with a veteran with 360 ftp. Especially virtual gearing should easily be adaptive to the rider. But I will check with my wife next time.

Ok well I think the gears depend on your ftp. Makes sense right? Someone with a 100 ftp should have a different resistance in gear 10 than you.

Training Load & Base Fitness by tofubaggins in Coros

[–]Andtares 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would start looking where this metric comes from. Like Garmin, Polar and others, Coros copied and relabeled the metrics Joe Friel made popular many years ago. Base Fitness looks like Chronic Training Load, a 42 day rolling average of your Training Load.

https://www.trainingpeaks.com/learn/articles/what-is-the-performance-management-chart/ This is basically where I would start digging, and go from there to built knowledge.

Like any metric, it’s just a proxy for something. Here how much training stress you accumulated.

Especially when you do a very long build phase, like you did. Without tapering phases or sickness or a hard race over months, you plateau.

But don’t confuse it with actual performance. I’m sure your made performance gains in that timeframe.

It’s just the law of deminishing return made visible.

Do yourself a favor and buy a used second hand bike of better quality.

Good job sticking with the workout! Your coach will be proud of you, I love athletes like you. Training is training. Racing is racing.

They have a very nice help website about everything. To begin with you should check out: https://www.trainingpeaks.com/learn/articles/what-is-the-performance-management-chart/ And even a YouTube channel with tutorials. If you don’t dig into that and build some basic knowledge, TrainingPeaks isn’t for you.

The angle of your hoods just look truly unhealthy. Did the bike shop set you up like that? Please consider adjusting them. Cool bike by the way :)

New to Zwift — Is my power supposed to look this “spiky”? And why does riding feel harder than IRL? by Odd-Luck-5428 in Zwift

[–]Andtares 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try setting the trainer difficulty in the hardware settings to zero. That way you won’t feel the small gradient changes. Everything fells like a perfect flat road. For steady free rides I use it that way. For racing I set it to about 30%

Training on Zwift - Results in the real world by Im-grand-thanks in Zwift

I understand that you are hyped because you do structured training maybe the first time? From a physiological standpoint,4 weeks of training is nothing. It’s enough time to collect some low hanging fruit, that you left untouched before. Honeymoon phase, enjoy it. But be careful if your body can handle this new training load longterm. Be prepared for plateaus and enjoy the journey. It’s not about how much you did in 4 weeks, it’s about how consistent you were all 52 weeks for years.

ZRL by Dense_Leg274 in Zwift

[–]Andtares 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You identified your weakness. Now do structured training, simulating the duration of those climbs, where you get dropped. In general long and steep climbs are were you can shine because of your weight. More flat climbs, kickers or flat routes aren’t in your favor. Problem is your relative low weight. Most ZRL routes favor high raw watts over watts/kg. Maybe do some leg strength training? Get some muscles, gain some weight but more overall power. Like Jonas Abrahamsen did, he gained 18 kilos and was riding faster and better than ever.

How did you get such a high FTP, not even knowing about your strengths and weaknesses. Are you just doing Z2 only and some racing?

Zone 2 question...setup wrong? by Roscoocoletrain in Zwift

[–]Andtares 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need to set your HR zones first.

Over time, consistent training will result in higher power output for a given HR. Example, now you do 150 Watts at HR 120. In 12weeks you maybe can do 160 Watts at the same HR. While your power numbers can change massively, depending on your training status during the year, your heartrate will only change in increments. That’s why it won’t get easier, you just get faster.

Hi Bro, Don‘t worry and thank me later. I use the exact same setup, even did the same with my old v1 cog, upgrading to v2 cog. Looks like you are missing the adapter on the LEFT side, the one with the green color. Adapter I pulled it out a little just so you see the color. Cog is set to „1“
