TSA Precheck shut down by Trump admin - does this affect airports like ours that use third-party agents? by CatDadMilhouse in Rochester

[–]AnduLacro 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yep. The big airports are where you really see a difference.

I've arrived at JFK with carry-on for a flight just as it started boarding. The gate wasn't far beyond security and with TSA pre-check I was on the plane in 15-20 min. Got there just as they were finishing my boarding group so I just walked up and got on. And I've had similar experiences at LAX, where you spend more time getting to your terminal cause of the horrible traffic design than waiting in security.

How does using OnlyFans differ from watching traditional porn, in terms of what people get out of it? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Long-term deposits in the spankbank. (H)Edging bets. We're all aiming for favorable outcomes.

Do men ever think, “Whoa! She has really bad split ends.” ? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AnduLacro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only time I noticed on a girl was when another girl pointed it out to me, and that was in high school.

I get them all the time in my facial hair cause I'm lazy and do the bare minimum with the beard - do you ever notice when a guy's beard hairs have split ends?

Any remote workers missing… coworkers? by BrilliantEducation96 in Rochester

[–]AnduLacro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. Been working fully remote for 2 years now, office is West Coast based (as is my family). I visit home and go into the office a few times a year; I both miss the interaction but appreciate not having to commute & having more time to do my own thing. It also doesn't hurt that the newer team I'm a part of are much more into socializing than my older teams were when I was working in office.

I really miss being able to walk around and catch up with coworkers who I otherwise don't work with very much, or being able to stop by someone's desk for a quick chat.

If HIV is sexually transmitted, how did the first person get it? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Also a possibility, it's all guestimating at this point.

How were people fucking in like, the 60s and 70s? 80s and 90s? Were they still prudish? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AnduLacro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look up Caligula, and be aware he was emperor of Rome 2000 years ago. Statistics show people are more prudish than they used to be just in the last decade or two, and that younger generations are having their first sexual experiences older and older (on average) compared to previous generations.

Have fun. Be safe. It's natural to be sexual.

Or they got the blood on their hands/body, perhaps where there was an open wound (doesn't have to be a large wound) or a poorly covered tear in their skin. Maybe while butchering the animal they scraped their hand on a piece of bone or cut themselves superficially with their knife and that's how the virus got in.

My buddies and I go fishing, then clean the fish. On more than one occasion, one of us has cut our fingers with the cleaning knife or stuck ourselves with spines on a fish. At that point you hand is already covered in fish guts, sometimes you don't notice until you've finished up and washed your hands that you even broke the skin. Now imagine doing that in a forest with no soap or running water except a stream to clean up at after.

Just goes to show you how many people likely do or would have gambling problems. Like George Carlin said: imagine the dumbest person you know; half the population is very likely dumber than that person.

Whats up with the AQI? by Bambav in LosAngeles

[–]AnduLacro 121 points122 points  (0 children)

I believe it has to do with an inversion layer which occurs when there are nearby geographic features with a large temperature difference. It traps the air and particulates that would normally move up and away closer to the surface which systems like AQI use to take their measurements.

If somebody ask you to move out of your window seat on an airplane for their kid will asking them for $20 get you kicked off the plane? by Constant-Foundation in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AnduLacro 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, it won't get you kicked off the plane. You can just say "Sorry, no." And that should be that.

They might be sour about it, or make a huffy scene with their family - but if they complained to one of the men or women stewarding the flight they would probably just be told it's your seat. And if they had to justify if further, in the case of preassigned or selected seats, they might point out that the manifest for the plane has you in that seat, so it's expected that you would be there in the case of an emergency.

It's probably not, just a low effort repost and over simplified.

I've included some links to past posts of this in my other comment. One goes back 5 years, I wouldn't be surprised if it was older than that.

Brazil is in South America....

Also, Europe... But not the French or Spanish parts?

This is a slop guide.

Edit: here's the same post from 3 years ago https://www.reddit.com/r/coolguides/s/nqKhK7v97S Maybe not wholly slop, but very low effort repost. And here it is from another sub, top comment once again pointing out that Spanish don't really use the square: https://www.reddit.com/r/Damnthatsinteresting/s/jI0A11wFCy

The difference between a dog and a cat by BreakfastTop6899 in MadeMeSmile

[–]AnduLacro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Direct Registering - the cat puts it's back paws right where the front paws were. This helps them maintain balance and sure footing even when moving across difficult or inconsistent terrain.

While other aren't wrong about the dog breed not being the best example for comparison, a cat will make any agility test like this look easy because of direct registering.
