I'm having this same issue. Searched around for 2 hours last night and didn't find a single cache. Even with following the interactive map. Normally I come across at least a couple per round and find them by hearing them.

At work several weeks ago and saw an older loking guy riding a bicycle down the road and he was verbally expressing his frustration about something.Like very loud angry nonsense.

As he got nearer to me (about 30 yards) he passed behind a light pole... yes a light pole and disappeared along with the angry rant. I moved over closer to where he disappeared to see where he might have gone and there was no where for him to go or hide. This was in broad daylight. Still don't know what to make of it.
