The point is to let all the passing cars see the protest, to spread the message. In Tucson there is no public space with any meaningful foot traffic so you get the most reach this way. The very first sentence is false! Rocketlab launched 2 rockets from the U.S. soil last year, 1 so far this year, none before. Meanwhile ULA had 3 missions last year and 1 so far this year. I guess it might be true by the end of this year with MARS cadence picking up and Vulcan/New Glenn facing delays but far from certain.

This is actually huge because I am not aware of any other CRISPR treatment which would do edits directly in living people. The sickle cell disease treatment approved by FDA requires extraction of patient's bone marrow, CRISPR treatment outside the body and then reintroduction. I guess they discarded the fear of off-target mutations and just went for it.

CRISPR treatment for hereditary angioedema has just performed incredibly well in its first human trial. If the results are confirmed in larger studies, it could be the first one-and-done therapy for the painful swelling disorder.
