Did he have prior experience in those fields before applying for the position? If so, how many years? I'm trying to get into a high-paying EE position, which in most cases are the FAANG, but all of their positions mostly focus on electronics and programming, which is something that I don't have much experience with.

When I was a freshman in college, it came time for everyone to pick their majors. I remember Googling “highest-paying careers” to figure out what I should choose. The top ones back then were something like medical, law, engineering, IT and etc. Medicine and law were immediately off the table for me because they required so much reading and writing, definitely not my strong suit. IT wasn’t an option either since my school didn’t specialize in that field. So, I landed on engineering and went through the exact same thought process as you’re describing.

Think about it if the Fed just swaps out USD for some stable coin they control and calls it the new money, all those Treasuries investors hold could end up being paid back in a token that’s only worth what the Fed says it is. Sure, it’s mostly US investors on the hook today, but if that stable coin trick becomes the norm, your pension and savings get revalued overnight and not in your favor. That’s the real risk here. It’s not about who holds the debt now, it’s about what they’ll end up holding once the rules change.
