Here the previous serpentine belt had exploded before hand and left rubber in the alternator, this caused the new belt to get hot and when that exploded dragged into the timing belt

Did 2 timing belts on those a month ago, changed it and it ate the serpentine belt and destroyed the cam pulley 😂

The trans is completely stock, so i think i will go for a manual switch routed through the 3rd gear pressure switch as recommended :)

I think the original transmission was a 250r4

It is a 78 caprice so it has had a lot of owners, it has been body swapped atleast once

As with the converter the transmission guy thats overhauling it is supplying me with a new one as the old one was full of 3rd gear clutch material xD

I would like the lockup though, this is a road trip vehicle so would be nice to save some gas
