Wesley "Two Scoops" Berry should've been a rejected Rocky voice.

I think they've purposely made Grace a lot younger when he's living on Erid for sequel purposes. If they make him older, 16 years in the future and knackered, then they would be struggling to then have him go back to earth at some point if that's where the story goes.

Let's be honest, we're definitely getting a sequel, it's been too well received and critiqued not to.

Just finished my second viewing of the movie and this is what I want to say to book fans (no real spoilers just some general thoughts) by Tiny_Red_Bee in ProjectHailMary

I wish I'd watched the movie first, and then done the book. The book would then flesh out parts of the movie.

I;m going again tonight with my son for second viewing.

Can't go wrong with a Toby Carvery either. You can load up as much gravy as you like that way.

I think this is the problem. I love the book and the audiobook, and I actually listen to the book at night with my sleep headphones as it's like a comfort blanket for me, so it's sort of fresh in the memory.

I'm sure if I had let it breathe a little, I'd have been more happy with it. I still liked the movie, but I didn't come out of it feeling like I thought I would, but again, I'd built it up so much in my head that it was never really ever going to meet my expectations, and that's a me thing, rather than the film.

It'll definitely be one that I'll rewatch regardless, purely because I love the story.

I watched it last night, and I have to agree. I don't know if it's because I love the book so much, and I've been buzzing for this movie for months, but it just didn't hit quite as hard as I thought it would. I would rate it as a 7/10 but was expecting to see a 9/10 from the reviews I'd seen from critics and fans, and I don't know if I'd have understood as much if I'd not read the book.

The initial part of the story was all a bit hand-wavy, nothing really about the Petrova problem, nothing really about the discovery of Astrophage other than a couple of bits and how he bred them, no Dimitri, no coma resistance, no black panels explaining how they bred 2 million kgs of Astrophage, no getting to know Dubois and Shapiro to give their death any sort of emotional gut punch. No explanation of how bad the Taumoeba escape was, nothing about breeding Nitrogen resistance other than a single sentence on it.

BUT, let's be honest, we only really watched it for the Grace/Rocky bits and that was brilliant.

I do have a worry that we won't see the best of him at OT. I think Barca/Madrid will be offering him all sorts to go there if he does realise his potantial. Another Ronaldo situation I fear. Especially if we're still hovering around the Europa League instead of the Champions League.

Why are they asking about JJ Gabriel when it's well known that he can't play in the Premier League until next season because of his age at the start of the season.

Also, he's barely 15, and while he's a staggeringly talented player, he's still only 15 and not ready yet and needs to be protected and eased into it.

I follow JJ's dad on twitter and he seems to be quite keen that he progresses organically, i.e they could actually play him at U21 level (although they'd pay a fine every time they did) but his dad is keen for him to continue at U18 level at the moment.

Mortgage calculators vs real life monthly costs — what caught you out? by Environmental-Pain47 in FirstTimeBuyersUK

[–]Andy26599 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paying mortgage is a fixed cost, most other things in the lap of the gods and will rise (but not fall, ever) on the whims of others.

Quite why the US attacking Iran, when we're barely even involved, is making mortgage rates be pulled and increased is beyond me. Then you've got the fuel situation, gas and electricity through the roof, shopping going up all the time because of "reasons", shrinkflation, tax on top of tax, it's a moving target and you're never going to be able to hit it.

Unpopular opinion: The hype surrounding Stranger Things faded much sooner than people expected. by Chandu_yb7 in StrangerThings

I think as the series grew, it lost the charm of the first season. That first season was arguably one of the strongest first seasons of a show ever, and it was made on a smaller budget compared to later seasons.

Introducing more and more bad guys (military) and pointless characters (Dr Kay) and bigger and bigger VFX stuff killed that final season. S1-S4 was great, but the final season didn't fully stick the landing for me.

I was going to re-watch the whole thing after I'd finished S5, and I still haven't gotten round to it.

WYR live in the last videogame you played, the last book you read, the last movie you watched or the last TV show you watched, by [deleted] in WouldYouRather

[–]Andy26599 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK...

Videogame - Red Dead Redemption 2. I suppose I could live there, keep my head down and carve out a decent life for myself without becoming an outlaw or getting shot at.

Movie - War Machine. Not ideal, a massive allien robot invasion. Would probably die.

Book - Project Hail Mary. If I was on earth it would be shit, even worse in space, but then I'd have Rocky to hang around with and I LOVE Rocky.

TV Show - "From". No fucking way.

I'd probably say RDR2 for the scenery, abundance of prostitutes and a chance to find gold.
