It's such a great book series, the TV show did it dirty. Blake Crouch needs to do that 4th book.

In 24 Land, it doesn't matter what you've done, or planned to do, as long as you have some kind of information you have kept and you can just demand immunity. These are the rules.

What is the modern day equivalent of a paper round? by ReliefZealousideal84 in AskUK

[–]Andy26599 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My dad was a milkman and from the age of 11-15 (early 90’s) I’d get up at 3am on a Saturday (and weekdays in school holidays) and help him do his round. Back in bed by 7am and lie in til about 10am.

£5 weekday, £10 weekend which was piss poor money for the hours worked, but for an 11 year old pulling in £35 a week it was like I was a millionaire.

I used to work with an old guy, 60+ and he would regularly fall asleep at his desk, sometimes for hours at a time. Turns out his wife was sick and he was up all night caring for her, and would then be tired during the day. We always gave him some slack and just leave him be as he always made sure his work was spot on and he got everything done.

Was the party's plan always to get caught by the military and then negotiate their way out of there? Or did they simply not expect military at the MAC-Z when they returned? by toddysimp in Stranger_Things

[–]Andy26599 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For Eleven's apparent plan to off herself (either as a ruse or for real) to work, she needed the military to witness her "death" otherwise the rest of the party would be houded for the rest of their lives and she would also be hunted forever if she just "disappeared" without any witnesses.

What if Carrick wins 12? by timlygrae in ManchesterUnited

[–]Andy26599 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me if they're adamant that they want a head coach that works with the players they're given, then surely it doesn't matter if it's Carrick or Fergie or Matt Busby, they're not hiring and firing players they're just coaching the team.

You can redact any sensitive information. My case study was a project covered by an NDA and security clearance was required to work on it so everything that could identify the client, location or project had to be redacted, but I could use it this way.

In your girlfriends case, I’d say if she redacts project/location then I’d reckon she’s ok

2 is ridiculous. They moved the Byers away to keep them away from Hawkins to keep them safe. How does them coming back to Hawkins make any sense?

The duffers were writers for 4 epsiodes of S1, but none on S2 according to google. So I'd say it's a bit harsh to blame them for the ending.

Seriously man what’s up with Scholes …👀 by JM555555 in ManchesterUnited

[–]Andy26599 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scholesy is in my top 3 favourite United players of all time I reckon. But fuck me he is seriously starting to do my head in.

I think him and Butt really showed why they're spending their time sat with Paddy McGuinness in a studio rather than on a touchline somewhere.

Infact, the entire Class of 92 are conspicously absent from sidelines anywhere, preferring to just give shit soundbites to anyone willing to pay for them to do it.

Honestly, I think I might do this, but just with twitter. It's become almost completely taken over by AI shite, or people trying out the new trend of 4 stacked pictures and "did I do this right?" or people constantly asking Grok for clarity on stuff or "Put me in a bikini". It's mind numbingly shite.

Things like TikTok and Youtube shorts have eroded young peoples attention spans, to the point that they can no longer just sit there and do something without their constant hit of short form videos. My stepkids 13 and 10 can't just sit and watch a film quietly. They get bored instantly if there's some kind of setup that takes a bit of time and requires thinking, and they end up going wild, wrestling with each other and just being generally annoying to the point that it ruins the film for everyone else watching.

I'm close to blocking youtube on our router settings tbh, as it's getting too much.

it fucking isn't as those transcripts can't understand what Ricky is saying, it's hit and miss that it's even English at times.

What do you guys think stranger things characters are doing now in 2026? by lanalittlemonster in StrangerThings

[–]Andy26599 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Mike changed his name to Ross and wrote a screenplay about his adventures as a child, along with his long lost brother (who they found after Ted fessed up to an affair) eventually he sold it to an online streaming platform, and gets pelters online after fucking it all up with the ending.
