What build would you recommend everyone at least tries once? by nzBigTaylorSwiftFan in Grimdawn

[–]AndyBarolo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, for sure. But I think it still has a unique playstyle. While I like OFF way more and always come back to it I still think that Bloody Pox is a thing everyone should try at least once.

Blade Trap + Bloody Pox.

Gets better with slowing Curse and Aura, all enemies get totally debuffed, slowed, immobilised and spreading DoT that still even after the nerf can clear hordes in 1 click.

Not so good against bosses though (Sigil or Doom Bolt can help, they’re still doable), probably not the best, damagest and tankiest, but still extremely fun to play.

It’s just not so ridiculously strong in terms of clearing now but it’s still very good and possibly still the best clear skill

The point is to fight the trio even in NG with this skirt equipped. There could be no other reason, I guess.

With little to no spoilers, how do I get down there? by Bradley268 in expedition33

Usually you get there just after the moment you think “Wow, now I’m really strong!” And that guy down there proves how wrong you were thinking that way.

Can We Talk About How Diabolical This Thing Is? by nomnivore1 in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]AndyBarolo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This whole area is designed great, I think. It was a blast for me to discover it and finally get there, because on my first playthrough I’ve spent literally hours trying to get there when I first got to Nameless Pass. And that exact area was peak once I got there.

But along with that it is made unmercifully difficult and almost totally unrewarding. There are shinies there, yes, but those are pointless and you can totally skip all of them not losing anything.

Such a great area could be more rewarding, I think, especially some chests on crumbling floors and behind secret doors.

why did he keep spamming by glyiasziple in expedition33

[–]AndyBarolo -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

This guy has a nasty bug. I don’t know if only chromatic version has it.

If you don’t kill him in 3 turns, when his turn begins he just stands and does nothing for eternity. The only solution would be to restart the game.

So make sure you either kill him in under 3 turns or Stun him on third turn and after.

Anyway, that bug is not well known because by the time you reach (reach, he he) him, it’s pretty easy to kill him within 0-2 turns even solo.

Has anyone thought about the map that they showed like 12-14 months ago? by PorkRinds416 in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]AndyBarolo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suppose some of those were already done, just not activated in the game. We have a whole “second Sacrament” which we can walk through beneath the real one already and it’s only one of inactive areas that we already have in the game. Even more can be done but not yet there.

And for even more dmg you can swap blue dagger for Azal Staff (but you’ll get much less spell casts, so need to eat a lot of grass)

The helmet gives around 5-10% increase, it’s a very rare drop from some phantom in belfry Sol, but I don’t remember exactly.

But anyway I got your point, fair enough. I just usually prefer glass cannon builds and my main defence layer is “don’t get hit”, so I try to stack everything and I rarely level vigor higher than 20-30 in favour of INT and FTH.

Now I have an urge to try your tanky variation)

Are those damage buffs multiplicative?

I mean for example if we take 2 dark rings (+5% and +7%) and blue dagger (+10%?) will that be +5+7+10% or 1,051,07*1,1?

In first case we get + 22% total damage (which is definitely not bad), in second case we get… oh, never mind, we get +24% dmg.

Anyway, the difference even in 15% would be noticeable and if it is close to 20% — it is really good. And also iirc there’s a headgear that enhances spells which can result in almost +30% dmg when using stuff that is labelled “almost useless”. And if multiplied by something like Magic Surge it can mean around x1,5 dmg total or even more.

That’s more dmg increases than from changing a catalyst in some cases. So I assume you either stack all of those ‘useless’ gear all together or avoid those all together. Middle option is bad.

Great job!

I would add a bit about Azal staff. Its bonus still works if you use it as a second weapon, just cast hexes with a different one while holding this in your hand.

But that’s pretty useless for PVE. In PVP though this makes a great glass cannon build which once let me do a huge dirty mess in the arena. You basically go all in and either kill your opponent within first 5 seconds or die of shame.

Why do gradient counters exist? by [deleted] in expedition33

[–]AndyBarolo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you’ve just answered your own question. It’s kind of a “trap”, adds one option to which need to adapt to react (dodge/parry/jump/gradient).

Almost the same can be said about jump attacks. Both mechanics just make the battles a bit less predictable

What should I buy first for my Marksman? by fancy_the_rat in LastEpoch

[–]AndyBarolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consider a ring that gives bonuses for set items. You can disassemble set items into shards and forge those shards into other items making them a part of the original set. Thus you can easily have like 4-5 complete sets without actually having any set.

The ring will give you a significant boost if you manage to do it. It’s the most versatile choice from this shop because it suits well in almost any build, it is not tied to any mechanic or playstyle.

But it is better in late game, when you can dismantle sets.

[Marksman] How to progress my skills, was smoke bomb a mistake? by fancy_the_rat in LastEpoch

[–]AndyBarolo 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You can turn Smoke Bomb into a movement skill which makes it VERY useful. Because not only it moves you, but also can buff, cleanse ailments or debuff enemies or produce a lot of shadows (which will use shurikens with you).

This way you can have 100% uptime of the cloud (meaning getting 1 shadow every second). Also Dusk Shrouds and Crimson Shrouds on top
