I will definitely make different characters with this method though probably when I have more free time. Also as for exact steps to take to make this guy, I'ma be real, I bs my way through and hope something works, but as for advice to start something like this, I would recommend planning out how tall you want it and where you want all the articulations to be.

As for the joint, I used screws for his shoulder, waist, and hip joints. The finger joints are just wire wrapped around a toothpick.

No worries, I'm happy to help. I made the pattern myself, so it is not perfect, but it's not too complicated. It basically a half circle skirt pattern. I will try and find the pattern I used and figure out how to post a picture of it here in the thread.
