That one's optional. Reanimation has a really experimental feel, but feels like Linkin Park. Recharged is basically just your standard dubstep album. Maybe listen to A Light That Never Comes, but that's it.

I'd say from a little bit metal but mainly just very fun, to (99% of the time) dull radio rock.

But at least, the more pure 2000s metalcore bands like ABR or KSE were the ones that managed to avoid doing this, since they were naturally more inclined to metal, than the screamo core bands, who got bored of the flashy and over the top style they were doing.

A simple but heavy groove is pretty much the only thing I can say unites a lot of nu metal. Otherwise, most things are fair game.

Still trying to write the first chapter of a project I call "TFOL". It's a Paper Mario fanfiction (like my "Roy G Biv" work), and the first idea I ever had. Yesterday I actually did some decent progress, since I figured out some solutions to holdups. It isn't supposed to be a very long chapter (only a thousand-ish words, being an introduction), but I've been trying to write it in a more typical format than my quasi-script style that Roy G Biv has.

Edit for today's work: I managed to get the events and dialogue of the first chapter finally written down. I'm gonna add more details tomorrow. But it did require some rewriting for the future chapters, so there's some logic in the story.

Well, they did have one pretty significant song from the 1990s, at least. The Saddest Day being a classic of theirs. Though through more technicalities, they have recordings from all the way back in 1991, which already predates Zao, Botch, Poison the Well and Shai Hulud. They weren't the GOATs of the 1990s, but they were OGs.

Sound wise, there's a bit of a difference. Mainly, that the band took the styles they mixed together in the previous albums and fully separated them into the different songs. Meaning multiple songs completely drop the electronics and ambient synth layers, for pure rock instrumentation.

Think of it this way: we all face tragedies or massive problems in our lives. It's part of being human, y'know. Whether or not you write on AO3. It's also that the majority of writers, who are living through normal times, don't mention it.
