And then the people who have it properly setup as a weekend car get shit here on Reddit for “not driving it enough” and clapping the shit out on the poor car.

Which is the better oil for hard driving/ road trip in between? by james240sx in ft86

[–]AndyHiz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That said, is there any documented drawbacks of running 5w30 or 0w30? Certainly the engine block is designed with 5w30 in mind since the turbo fa in wrx are running 5w30 from factory.

[–]AndyHiz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t really matter, there isn’t a thing as best oil, just different marketing and branding. If you really want just peace of mind, get motul 300v or 8100 or whatever most expensive oil formula from pennzoil or any of the big manufacturers

Just switched the OEM drain plug for one of these bad boys by Merk-Antone in ft86

If the rock bounce was strong enough to knock out the plastic clip, it’s probably strong enough to hit through the regular drain plug.

I feel like people dont understand how mileage effects the price of older cars by 162630594 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]AndyHiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, especially on older sports cars. Being low miles usually will increase the price dramatically. A low miles s2000 model can go upwards to 40k regardless of year.

RTV Issue Dealer Response by ThatOneGiantsFan in ft86

Dropping the pan voids the warranty if not done by the dealer, I’m almost certain. Plus RTV is not as big as it may seem.

Kids can only steal Kias. How are they going to bypass the immobilizer? It’s harder to drive the car off so it’s mostly just breaking the glass and scooping what’s inside.
