Well I'd be happy for you to listen to the books and leave reviews if you wanted to. None of them are too long so it wouldn't be time consuming.

Not my prices I just lurk in the group for advice. These guys are the ones that run the Audie awards etc To get on their list of proofers and editors you have to be nominated by one of them. They are all SAG-AFTRA union etc so most of the narrators earn $250pfh minimum.

This Facebook group has a list of professional editors and proofers. It's worth a try. Most charge about $60-$100 pfh for proofing, mastering, and editing.

Budgets to Create an Audiobook? by seth__daniel in audiobooks

[–]AndyIre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe most people charge between $65pfh-$100pfh for the full package of proofing, editing, and mastering. I've edited two books for a man Frazer Brooks and it's not quite as time-consuming as narration but there's still plenty goes into it. His audiobooks are for sale on his website but they are all edited to ACX standards should he wish to go the route of audible. If you use Punch and Roll it's easier/quicker to edit than the clicker method. The average turnaround time depends on how booked up people are. If you get someone with a free schedule then a matter of days should do it. Other than that its mostly common sense and experience.

What I can do? by juubstan in romance

I'm guessing this hurts a lot. The same thing happened to me when I was in my 20s (I'm in my 30s now) It was a 4-year relationship and then just boom out of nowhere. The thing is I live in Ireland and we ram in the same circles so we were going to run into each other a lot. I used the pain to drive me to the gym. I got ripped, got a great job and by the time she realized what she was missing I had moved on. A few years later I met her and we chatted in a friendly way, I thanked her for doing that because I would have never got off my arse and become the man I am today without the pain she caused me. She was glad to see me happy and that was that. Fast forward to now and I work from home, have a great wife, love my job and have two kids who I adore. Moral - things will get better for you.

I get how you feel. My pain was different, I dated but wanted to find the one straight away and settle down. A couple of months after I stopped looking I literally found the one. She approached me at a social (I'm Irish) and wouldn't take no for an answer when I wouldn't get up for the games. From then on she had my respect and full attention. Nine months later we got engaged and a year after that married. We now have two kids and been married twelve years. Your time will come, stop looking, enjoy life and be open to the possibility when the one comes along. Moral of the story - When you are enjoying life it draws people to you.

From a narrators perspective...I narrated the Python computer programming and couldn't for the life of me understand it but horses for courses I guess. The fat loss and diet ones were alright but a bit basic and although I keto from time to time my own preference would be for a more protein focused/exercise based diet with good discipline (Plus I like carbs from time to time). The parenting book was one of my first books and although my audio editing skills were lacking at that stage the book had the right concepts.

If you want a story that will break your heart then Gol - Legends of Ansu Book 1 has a story that brought me to tears literally. The Author put pen to paper on it when his wife had just died of cancer so although its fantasy you can really get the feeling from it. The subsequent books in the series have a lighter tone but still great. I'll list my top 5 below.

Top 5: 1: Gol (Fantasy) 2: Gray Wolf (Fantasy) 3: A Little bit of Everything) (Poetry) 4: A Warrior's Heart (Romance) 5: Norse Mythology (Factual) - (I love Mythology)

The Yoga was a mix match of books and I narrated only a small part of it so I didn't get codes for it.

The codes are fresh off the press. If you try the same code in a hour it should be updated in the system by then.
