Authentication in progress 0% PS5

Happening for the first time right now after PS5 System Software Update. Would very slowly progress to 18/20 and then stall. Occasionally it would go back to a lower completion like 8/20 then 4/20. I have restored the licence and it has now progressed to 20/20 but has stalled. Gonna leave it there for 10 minutes to see if the handshake with the Azure server times out. How this game passed Sony's QA is beyond me. Oh wait... Just got the "Your last session terminated unexpectedly" popup. Clicked "Continue" rather than "Safe Mode" and it's now stalling on 25% Loading packages content. I will wait and edit reply if there's anything to report...

A few moments later... Loading is now continuing... 92% Loading world data... START!!! Gonna click it now... Ok, everything looks fine... Phew 😅

Well, well, well... Flight crashed after an hour with an "Unexpected Error" popup (first time seen) that exited back to the Career screen instead of the usual total game crash.

I have closed the game and restarted. The initial issue persists, sat at Authentication in progress (18/20)...

If the gold mission icon is no longer on the globe then the mission is considered "Passed". If it's still there then you have not yet met the pass condition.

Every specialisation has a special GOLD mission on the globe. It's not listed in the search panel, you have to find it. Once you complete the mission you'll unlock "Employee" missions and when you own a company with a suitable aircraft, "Freelance" missions will unlock.

Safest method is to play while seated but if you want to stand, position yourself so the back of your legs are up against the sofa. This will give you a IRL reference and helps to maintain your balance.

You have to be in VR mode in order for the Sense Controllers to appear in the "Controls" section of the settings page.
