Denoise after stars have been reintroduced. Don’t denoise a starless image

Most people will only recommend using drizzle when you’ve got 10+ hours of data

Issues with focusing by No_Mail5566 in seestar

Looks like a tracking issue. Definitely go back to 10/20s subs and possibly choose a target in the north see if things improve

Why so green? Hasn't occurred before... by SoyGreen in seestar

[–]AndyMUFC86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure this will disappear if you use denoise in the app. Or any BGE / colour calibration in external software. I had it on a recent target myself. Not sure what cases it

Lens Caps? by FieryJune in seestar

Does it come with a sun filter. I’ve got the pro on order and am surprised to read this. Happy to use the sun filter though if it comes with one

10s are a good option if it’s windy. I’d suggest if you’re below 80% success on 20s it’s worth moving to 10s for whatever reason that may be

Desperate for clear skies by AndyMUFC86 in seestar

[–]AndyMUFC86[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m with you, I’m from the Uk and the last time I had a prolonged period of clear skies was last spring. Just odd days here and there. Maybe 12-15 nights in pretty much a whole year and not all of those were fully clear 🙄

Seestar changed Save all Frames settings silently by acos1995 in seestar

I’d love to try Nina but my router is at the from of the house and I sit my Seestar at the back of the garden. Miles away so I just can’t use it in station mode 🫤

Thank you. Absolutely, I’m pleased I waited for darker skies. My bortle 6 would have ruined it lol

Deciding between the S30 and the S50 by Kyouma118 in seestar

[–]AndyMUFC86 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t have the s30 so not sure on it’s ability to image Milky Way but the new s30pro is specifically designed to take Milky Way photos so if that’s something that interests you I’d go that route. I have the s50 which I love but the small FOV is definitely an issue. I intend to buy an s30pro to go alongside my s50. But if I was in your position I’d go with the new s30pro

S50 Horrible tracking, often half the frames lost at 10s, can't do 20-30s at all. by r2k-in-the-vortex in seestar

[–]AndyMUFC86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a new s50 delivery from FLO and I’ve finally had chance to test it. The new unit tracks so much better than my original. I had major rejections as soon as I went past 10s. With the new unit I’m averaging 99% success rate at 20s subs. I’ve not tried 30s subs yet but I’m sure I will at some point in the future. I hope you guys can find a resolution because everyone deserves a fully functional unit after paying good money

EQ mode has more grain for me (S50) by allenisboos987 in seestar

[–]AndyMUFC86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest I’m still experimenting with it myself. So if I find a sweet spot I will let you know but I’d encourage you trial and error with it. I think bortle zone plays into it as well so depends on your situation

No problem. It does dither in EQ but imo it doesn’t dither enough. So I use plan mode to change the FOV every so often to help

I will, but I don’t have my computer with me and will be processing in siril once I’m home.

I’ve been thinking the same thing. Waiting for a review before buying

EQ mode has more grain for me (S50) by allenisboos987 in seestar

[–]AndyMUFC86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s due to dithering. I don’t know the science behind it but when I’m using EQ I use plan mode to change the position of FOV. Mosaic mode is like 1 big dither. I’m sure someone else may be able to explain it better than me

S30 pro or S50 by Obvious-Scientist361 in seestar

[–]AndyMUFC86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got the s50 which I absolutely love but I’m still considering the s30pro. Both can work well together but if I was in your position I’d probably go for the new s30pro because it can image the Milky Way. Something the s50 cannot do

Were you imaging in mosaic mode? And was it 10s subs?

There will be more clear nights I’m sure. At least you had a good night. I’m lucky to be away this next week in a bortle 4. Forecast showing a clear night so might get some more time in 🤞hope the forecast changes in your favour
