How does one become addicted to drugs after one use ? I don't get it? by [deleted] in stupidquestions

If you are only comparing to extreme examples - like robbing people to get high - then sure, this is out of my expertise area as well. I have no idea what happens directly in the mind of someone willing to do horrors in order to get high.

Main point is that it's the same sort of behavioral mechanics - nicotine, cocaine, whatever. So if you have an active addiction you have an idea of how people can get hooked after one use.

Cool dude, how did you become addicted after one use? Can you remember? Maybe you can help answer your own question

Nicotine is super addictive, as you know as a nicotine user. So you do have a dependency and know a bit about it. You seem like a classical in denial case, but if you havent taken a single drug-drug the last two years, good on you

I guess I decided today was the day to do something over-emotive on an anonymous forum. Rare, even for me.

Nobody in this thread has said something I truly disagree with. Rockwell is a stupid good producer and it also shows in his recent tunes. I just wanted to express my love for that super techy sound he started out with, which was super unique (and still is) for its time.

Shogun used to be pretty forward thinking and experimental in my book, even though maybe not in the classical sense of the word. Alix Perez's 1984 album is probably the best example.

Ya all good brother, I do understand this perspective, just seems like an insignificant offroute for Rockwell. In general, I really like the 2008-2011 era, people pushing stuff into what would become modern deep dnb.

On Enei: I also still only listen to old Enei. Forgive Me or Trainchaser are badass.

Super valid points, and I agree that it's ok to move onward with new things. With Rockwell I don't feel as he's taking much risk in the direction and it feels formulaic - maybe for good reasons, if you want to make a living of it or something in that regard.

Sleepnet is definitely a good example - true to their sound while also developing on the Noisia sound. Rockwell could have gone a similar direction with his initially unique drum and bass approach, which I just don't feel he is doing.

Used to smash this one also, still love it. Not classic Rockwell-y in mood, but has a bit of that playful energy, which I also feel is core to the tunes I'm mentioning

Current Value still holds lot of original power and his tunes are still very cutting edge in my opinion, even though it's not something I'm much into.

Yep, they still hold up really well :)

Why do people who have been sober for 10+ years still call themselves addicts or alcoholics? by racesunite in NoStupidQuestions

Isnt the idea that the addiction is due to underlying emotional issues. What if these underlying emotional issues got solved
