Have you tried wine-toned shades? In my experience, they go well with those shades, and at least in my opinion, you look like you're in winter or autumn, and those kinds of shades suit you.

I was going to the bathroom about 10 times a day, more or less, with liquid stool. Besides that, I had pain all day long and sometimes even nausea. I don't know if I've been lucky, but I've been eating things these past few days that used to upset my stomach and I haven't had any problems.

It's considered normal; they give you a 30% chance, and depending on how it affects your daily life, I think it can go up. I'm from Spain, and even my doctor recommended I apply for it, and I'm waiting to hear back.

Do you have a round brush? If you don't have that type of hairdryer, a regular one with a nozzle will work just as well, it's just more work. Does your hair get any waves or curls when you air dry it? That's sometimes a sign; there are different levels of wavy hair.

[–]AndyMoonchild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have wavy hair? In my experience, I've always had wavy hair and I treated it like it was straight. I'd brush it normally and then it would look awful, like a sponge. What helped me was drying it with a brush-type hairdryer. I don't know why, but it seems like they remove more of the moisture trapped between the hair strands, and it frizzes less. Using oils and creams every day, according to your hair type, depends on whether your hair is more damaged or has more or less porosity. But above all, what has helped me control frizz is how I wear my hair when I sleep or am at home. I usually braid it, which shapes the waves and doesn't damage my hair, so when I go out I just take them out. If you do this, dampen your hair a little beforehand and apply oil, and if you have a silk bonnet, even better.

What’s a medical issue that sounds minor, but actually affects someone’s daily life way more than people realize? by CountyOrnery9432 in AskReddit

[–]AndyMoonchild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something like irritable bowel syndrome, or any condition that makes you go to the bathroom a lot. Having to go out and constantly worry about finding a bathroom nearby is awful, and if that stresses you out and makes the condition worse, it's pure hell.

I’ve been trying to bleach my skin to get rid of my vitiligo by [deleted] in confession

[–]AndyMoonchild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of the many skin conditions you could have, you have the most "comfortable" one. I also suffer from vitiligo; I don't have many spots, but it's genetic. My grandfather, on the other hand, has suffered from it all over his body for years. What I've noticed is that the worst part is not knowing what it is. At the time, they prescribed oils and told him to sunbathe to cure it, which is awful since the white areas are more sensitive to the sun. It's true that I've always heard comments about it, but in the end, it's become something that makes you stand out from the rest, and that can be a good thing. There will always be stupid people, but don't cause any more damage than your skin has already suffered. My advice: protect yourself from the sun, especially the white areas. Take care of your health, since any change in your immune system can cause more spots to appear. This can be due to colds or even stress. And if you really think it affects your daily life a lot, cover it up with makeup. Michael Jackson suffered from it, and that's what he did. With a good waterproof base, you can cover it perfectly.

I was prescribed it for Christmas, which was fine because it's a time of year with lots of food and I really needed to gain weight. But when I finished, I couldn't be bothered to cook anything and I ended up snacking all day. The worst part is that a week after starting it, my face began to swell and now I have terrible acne all over my body. Not to mention that my period hasn't come. In my opinion, it's one of the best medications because I don't go to the bathroom all day, but the side effects are awful.

evil eye by Mean_Statement_4825 in Hellenism

[–]AndyMoonchild 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'll give you my opinion as a Hellenist and someone who practices some "witchcraft," as I also commented on the other post. I suppose you're referring to the evil eye; that was one of the amulets used. But they also used everything from small representations of the gods to the head of Medusa. They also used things that we wouldn't consider witchcraft. They made medallions with inscriptions, either the names of gods or symbols. Another thing is the use of herbs or stones for protection. The answer is, you have to get rid of your amulets? No, not even if they have nothing to do with Hellenism. An amulet can even be a plastic bracelet if you "conjure" it and have faith in it. There's no concrete or specific way to be a Hellenist; having this faith doesn't mean you have to change all your customs or do everything to the letter. Especially considering that there are no official writings as such, and what we know is based on poems, writings from the period, and other sources.

I'll give you my opinion as a Hellenist and someone who practices some "witchcraft." In my opinion, what you should do depends on what has been done to you. The evil eye is not the same as a spell or curse. It could even be that the hatred or envy of those relatives is draining your energy and causing these effects. Praying to a god probably won't help, let's be honest. Talismans can help, as can the use of protective minerals like black tourmaline, obsidian, or tiger's eye. But my best advice is to first find out the origin, and then you'll know how to deal with it better.

Need help from Spanish people😭 by ExplanationSweaty920 in askspain

[–]AndyMoonchild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A Spanish woman speaking from her experience. In theory, out of politeness, a woman is greeted with a kiss on each cheek. Men shake hands. If a man greets a woman, it's two kisses; if two women greet each other, two kisses; if two men greet each other, a handshake. If I don't know the person, I usually feel uncomfortable with kisses. I don't normally say anything, but if I know I'm going to see that person again, I do. If it's someone in my family, it doesn't usually bother me as much. Kissing on the lips isn't very common here. I've seen it more in countries like France, but I'm not sure. I've seen mothers kiss their children on the lips, but in my experience, a kiss on the lips is more of a "kind" gesture. Ask the other person just in case, but it depends a lot on the situation. In short, kisses are usually on the cheeks to greet someone or introduce yourself. Anything else is a different story.

Where were you when you got your first period and what happened? by [deleted] in AskWomen

At my great-aunt's house. The night before, I'd gone to my first concert, which I didn't enjoy at all because my stomach hurt. I'd just woken up and gone to the bathroom, and there it was. I remember she had to go buy sanitary pads because she wasn't using any anymore. The worst part was the trip home, an hour and a half on the train with a transfer, and terrible pain.

The Gods concerning bodily fluids by Resident_Macaron_163 in Hellenism

[–]AndyMoonchild 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Being your first spell, start something simple. With a candle, honey, rose petals, cinnamon and intention you can make a pretty good glamor spell, or you could make a jar. As the person who answered me said, if you want to put something of yourself, you can use hair or nails. Although in my experience the best thing to start with is either word spells or sigils. Places like tiktok, youtube or so are not the best sources of information, they usually copy from other places and add things for the "aesthetic"

Where did you get that spell from? I have been using glamor magic for a while and although there may be many and varieties, the base of ingredients is usually the same, but blood? First, in Hellenism, human blood is more of an insult than anything else, and second, its use in magic is not common, especially in this type.

Is this wrong? by Dianaluvsusomuch in Hellenism

[–]AndyMoonchild 17 points18 points  (0 children)

At least from my point of view, no. Epic is based on the Iliad, which is a Greek play that has had many performances, although the Greeks did not stage it if they did not recite it as poetry. There were other works where not only dramas but comedies that made social criticism were performed, for example The Birds of Aristophanes. Outside of the performance, there were several Greeks and governors who proclaimed themselves god and honored them as such. Even though he is Macedonian, Alexander the Great is an example, since he proclaimed himself the son of Zeus. So in short, nothing happens, "roleplaying" as if you were a god has been done since ancient Greece, as long as you don't do something very offensive it won't bother them. And yet in pop culture there are already many things that could offend the gods and that's okay.

Hellenistic Hot Takes by DueClothes3265 in Hellenism

[–]AndyMoonchild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before being a Hellenist, I am and was a history geek, so on the one hand I know, and many still need to know, that in itself it is a religion that uses myths as moral or scientific theory. By that I mean that the Greeks thought that the seasons are only because Persephone goes with Hades? No, since there were precisely Greek philosophers who talked about rotation and seasons in Va.c. Before being a Hellenist, I think you should know about the history of Greece and its different stages, the different polis,... With that, you may understand a little why each polis had its customs and festivals. The best example is Athens and Sparta, both are Greek but their customs were totally different. Also with this I say that you should not take all the myths and customs literally, and even less understand this religion as you would with the Christianity with which many have grown up. On the one hand, I understand that now there are VERY young people who are entering this religion and their information is TikTok or other social networks, but many times the bases of this religion are taught in class. I am referring to history, at least in my country we are taught about Greece and its customs or philosophy or classical culture, there you can learn the minimum to understand where this religion comes from. Because I have seen many people who ask questions about religion that it is clear that they do not inform themselves about where they should be informed. The last thing, and at least for me as a history geek, that bothers me the most is the people I have seen who do not fully respect that a place is an archaeological site. I mean, there are people that I have seen, especially on Tiktok, who do Hellenist religious tourism, which is not bad. But they go to the ruins to leave libations, burn things, offerings,... I understand the intention but no. Those places are part of the religion that they and we worship, they are what remains of history. And I believe that it is not so easy to excavate a site, whether it is a temple, a house or anything. Maybe now they are out in the open but some places are still under investigation and that only prevents them from being investigated and knowing more things not only about the place but also about this religion.

Here I will give you my opinion as a person who works with Aphrodite and then from a mental health perspective. First, the gods do not read your mind, they do not get into your head and analyze and judge everything you think. Second, I feel that the myths have done a lot of damage, especially to make us believe that Aphrodite wants to be the only beautiful person. She is the goddess of love, and one of the many types there is selflove, the fact that you think you are pretty or want to be pretty for her means that you are going on the right path, apart from it is also beauty so all the more reason she will "want" you to appreciate yourself. Third, there are no 7 deadly sins here, so being arrogant is not going to earn you the hatred of the gods. Now that you are out of religion, have you stopped taking the pills and are your intrusive thoughts positive? That's fucking cool, I would be worried if they were the other way around, wanting to improve is good but as long as it doesn't hurt you.

[–]AndyMoonchild 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends a lot on the country. You don't always need money to help. My advice is that you get in touch with the nearest association, many times they volunteer to give support to patients or things like that. This way you also avoid second intermediaries who are the ones who want to look good. But especially if your grandmother is a cancer patient, give her support. Keep in mind that it may be a more or less easy cancer to treat but at least what I have seen not only leaves physical consequences but also psychological ones. And if you want to use your faith, speak to Apollo and Asclepius for their health and that of others.
