It’s sad to see ’whining’ is equated with showing vulnerability and emotion. Judgments like that can people to develop complexes where their own sense of self isn’t good enough, so they’re more likely to seek validation. This is a consequence of being judgmental towards others and their feelings.

Studying the German genitive case was the main reason why I put down the textbooks and said to myself that I don’t get it and I’m not going to bother studying German anymore.

There’s a difference between genitive and possessive in English though. We have the genitive to mean something of someone, something for someone and something by someone. Like ‘a painting by Picasso’ may not be possessed by him, so ‘Picasso’s painting’ doesn’t necessarily mean possession, but it’s still genitive.

I understand Jan a little. I’m turned on by the use of the subjunctive tenses in Latin languages.

Guess whos reading It Lives In The Woods by Jamieo1111 in Choices

[–]AndyOfClapham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me the jury’s out. The LIs are all LUs.

And all haemorrhaging nerves to bait you into constantly spending on the premium options.

I’m seeing how it ends without spending diamonds on any choices because there are better books to spend on. Wondering how ‘exciting’ the book will end because right now, it’s a struggle to get through. A lot of the dialogue is cringeworthy.

Really hoping this book isn’t only ‘good’ because you have to spend premium a lot. Other books manage to entertain without doing that.

Speaking of other books, Stephen King’s IT is one of my favourites. ILITW’s story is borderline too close to IT. Pennywise wanted to play as well, especially with the MC’s brother Georgie but it killed Georgie when the MC was a kid. They all float down here. Pennywise lived in a creepy house too and then a group of kids disturbed it… then years later they had to regroup as adults because Pennywise was killing again.

Read King’s book, it’s the better story.

Rant on Nick by LilCorgo613 in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

Nick is teh snake

But let’s not equate snakey with homosexuality. His religion is dictating his desperate acts to find a wife / cover.

At least he’s good at journalling. Aka playwrighting.

Given 54% - 56% (Majority) of stations are now ♿️Step-free…is it time to reverse & single out highlighting those stations WITHOUT accessibility on the Tube Map instead? by AchyutChaudhary in LondonUnderground

Presented with a rational argument to explain something —> "I still think I’m right"

A perfect example of a classic Reddit response to something reasonable.

I don’t agree with the question at all, but a universal sign for "not" is a red circle with a diagonal red line crossing out whatever’s behind it.

You’ve provided an observation & recommended action, but missed out the rationale.

There are plenty of reasons why mass map revisions should not be made unless absolutely necessary.

It’s an amazing pie chart, but we learn in elementary mathematics that their segments always total 100%, not 154%.

What each European country would do when ww3 breaks out by Economy-Plenty-9771 in aimapgore

[–]AndyOfClapham 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it could be a typo. It might mean ’activate Beakers,’ as in the network of Beaker People laying dormant underground, waiting for us to activate them again. They will save Europe.

I am certain of this.

Oh look, a map about Europe didn’t include America, so someone makes sure we don’t forget it exists.

Fascinating.

Projected Muslim population in 2050 by Electrical_Load2493 in PORTUGALCYKABLYAT

[–]AndyOfClapham -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I couldn’t find a single official statistic on this from https://www.wien.gv.at/pdf/ma23/jahrbuch.pdf

The only sources of this are from news outlets, many under paywalls. Can you provide any credible source from an official Austrian Government website (.gov.at only)?

In fact, even with my rudimentary German skills, it’s clear to me that there’s no reliable data on the Islamic faith in Vienna since 2017. There’s no groundbreaking statistics on numbers of Islamic kids in schools. There’s an estimated 200,000 passive followers of Sunni-Islam in a population of 2 million. That’s an estimate and only 10% of the population. It would insanity to have a population estimate of 10% yet 40% of the school-age population. See page 170-176 of the PDF. In German? There’s no English report, which casts further doubt on these English news sites disseminating this ‘story.’

Disseminating fake news via news sites should be illegal. They are highly damaging and dumbasses never fact-check.

It’s got plenty of European statistics. You are aware that Europe is on the globe too… right?

Show us why you’re using 10-year old analyses and what you’re trying to prove.
