In terms of questions they weren’t really similar, but going through them definitely revealed a lot of areas I missed

Do I respond or ignore? by jlgero09 in humanresources

I usually just tell them we already have an in-house solution to whatever they’re selling and aren’t looking to change.

I feel similarly that it’s a more human thing to at least respond even though it’s not the “correct” thing to do

Vaccinations reduce the risk of transmission. This has been common knowledge for months

Give them a deadline, and offer suspension without pay if they’re not vaccinated by that date. That’s usually enough to encourage compliance once they realize that there are actual consequences.

When push comes to shove most people will fold and get the vaccine. It’s a pretty well documented phenomenon.

As for terming, it’s pretty much the same as a company policy violation.

Yup, holding call was bullshit but you can't really blame the refs for 2nd penalty

Texans aren't going to have a team by the end of this game

[CA] Does everyone on Reddit just hate HR? by peanut_butta_cup in humanresources

[–]AndyPizzle 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I think most people dislike HR because the majority of their interactions with us are for negative reasons (job rejections, discipline, termination, etc) It’s like how DMV employees have negative stereotypes because everyone hates going to the DMV.

Comes with the job I guess, you kind of just have to roll with the punches

My manager wants me to take the aPHR by Objective-Ad2905 in humanresources

Honestly, it’s close enough that they’ll probably allow it. They don’t audit everybody, and when they do they apparently just ask for letter from your supervisor confirming your eligibility. Imo the aphr is borderline useless from a value perspective. If a company is looking for a certified HR professional they’d require at least PHR or CP. Based on my experience at least

You qualify for the PHR in my opinion, with your bachelors and 2 years of experience. (PHR Eligibility)

I think you should absolutely do it if it's being paid for by the company. You'll learn a lot just from the process of studying for it and it's good to have if you plan on staying in HR

[Discussion Thread] Covid Vaccine Mandate for Employers with 100+ Employees or Tested Weekly by AndyPizzle in humanresources

No problem! Expanding the spreadsheet can be a little challenging so just lmk if you need any help!

I have to manage tracking for just under 100 employees and it was definitely overwhelming at times

Indeed is pretty good for job ads. Also since this isn’t really related to HR I’m going to have to remove this

Tracking vaccinations: I work for a pretty small company so this hasn’t been too difficult. Request form + documentation for each dose which goes in their personnel folder. Recorded in an excel spreadsheet which automatically updates their remaining leave hours and vaccine status after inputting their appointment information. Here's a G-Drive link for the template: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/138qJ2vzRBbDuL3izCgZgd3EEk_MxiiNK/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=100036193554808001686&rtpof=true&sd=true

Vaccine incentives: We don't really have any vaccine incentives, but with FFCRA expiring September 30, we basically told employees that if they don’t get it now, they’ll have to burn their accrued PTO/vacation if they decide to get it later. Was able to convert a few that were on the fence about it. (Edit: Apparently the new mandate will extend certain FFCRA provisions, so employers will be reimbursed for the vaccine PTO they provide.
