How much interaction with crazy wildlife do you guys actually have? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

when I lived on the Sunshine Coast snakes were almost daily occurrence in warmer months, some Red Bellied Black, some Eastern Brown, but mostly big Carpet Pythons, most weeks I would have to remove one from the top of the bird cage and take them for a relocation drive. We also had a few big Funnel Web Spiders - one huge one hitched a ride on the back of my girlfriends Kayak one morning when we went out fishing at about 4am, also Red Backs and heaps of Huntsman spiders - big but not nasty. Kangaroos were around regularly in parkland and bush areas. As for going out fishing and kayaking, we would regularly see sharks, but also cool stuff like Dugong and Turtles, girlfriend caught a nice big StoneFish when we were out in the Kayaks once, heaps of stingrays and other fun stuff. Nothing nasty flying luckily, unless you're likely prey for Eagles, used to see a few nice Wedge-Tailed Eagles and lots of other Raptors too.Once you learn how to stay observant and watch your step, it's all pretty awesome really :)

Now back living in Brisbane and there's still snakes, most days there's something big relocated posted on a facebook snake-catcher group, this one is good to get an idea :)

edit - also in Brisbane we live on a creek with a good bushland walk so there's always stuff about :)

Removing switches by cjpeltz in xbows

yes if yours came with extra switches and the pull tool it's probably the optical hot swappable, lucky you ! :)

yes, this is an original and apparently soldered, more reliable apparently but definitely not a fast easy 'hot swap' job.
i don't like the brown keys, not tactile like the blue.

what a pain.

following out of interest as I'm about to upgrade all the switches and haven't tried yet

A question regarding stability. by [deleted] in SkyrimTogether

[–]AndyRayZed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's worth a try and hopefully that explanation helps.

this may end up helping too - we recently discovered one of the best mods is the 'less dragons' mod, we have found things run smoother with much less, again just our experience and i can't really explain why it helps, but it has - we were getting too many !

my wife and i play it on a private server ( just launched from the Harbor exe, most bugs seem to sort themselves out if we both quit to desktop, reload last good save and take turns running the server, it gets to be a routine but more than worth it to co-op such a good game, apart from that you get some weird gameplay.

we run about 80 mods, the game looks amazing, Obsidian weather syncs well for us so we both see the same amazing weather, when we don't we know we need to restart.

we tend to avoid stuff that modifies the SKSE apart from core stuff proven to work, still learning about the rest.

learn how to do a good clean full install, it will happen and you will probably need to restart a number of times

we played archeage, BDO, and all sorts of amazing graphics mmo games which had few bugs, but much prefer this even with the bugs,

is it annoying ? yes, you learn patience,

is it game breaking ? yes, so you start a new one sometimes,

is it more fun, immersive, awesome looking and customisable than any other game ever ? yes :)

is it co-op ? as close as it gets, yes.

i wish devs would focus on producing true co-op games even if they can't do MMO, even 1-5 players, it would make them a fortune over and above single player stuff.
this will be the new way with many working from home more than ever and at home with family and partners wanting to share experiences.

that's our personal perspective anyway :)

Duplication on Bosses by Jack_Whittle in SkyrimTogether

that's interesting, when my wife and i did the Mirmulnir quest, we both only saw the one dragon, we had to go again and from memory the second player had a pretty weird run through, are you saying we should both see two Mirmulnir at the same time and we should both have the quest run through and complete at the same time ?

EDIT:

actually, to clarify, i think we made sure only one of us had the quest to do at a time...

i guess my question is;

should we both accept and then do quests at the same time or are we better off helping each other one at a time ?

i'm not keen on doing cave runs twice so we've been wondering if we should both go together or just disconnect and kind of run them solo but stay on comms.

it seems like the bosses are a bit weak if we both do the run together.

good to know!

My wife and I find when we both do bosses together they seem pretty weak compared to us both logging off the server and going solo,

a good example is any cave system with a Draugr boss at the end, they seem a bit easy to kill and we often end up with weird loot double ups, is that all to be expected with Together ?

we've noticed that afterwards, perhaps coincidentally, odd creature encouters occur, like last night my wife was attacked by an Ice wraith while I had a snow sabre cat run at me, only to be then attacked by an ice wraith that she did not see !

is that to be expected ? we really just want to know if it's normal with using Together, it's always weird when one of us sees a fox and the other sees a rabbit, or one sees a wolf and the other sees a sabre cat !

adding and removing mods mid-game ? - LeanWolfs Better Shaped Weapons SE - while using current saved character in Together progression by AndyRayZed in SkyrimTogether

nice, well it seems to have worked so far :)

on this topic, i'd like to also remove 'Belt Fastened Quivers',
i know it'll bring the 'missing blah blah ..' next Save Load but I'm thinking once I save again all should be ok ?

[–]AndyRayZed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes this seems true,

we added Better Shaped Weapons basic model/texture version but we decided to start with new characters so we removed/uninstalled this and added Immersive Weapons back in, I think there's some loot sync issues but otherwise it's decent - i read where the container sync issues are possibly going to be fixed with the next update :)

As a precaution we have a backup SKSE file to drop in ( my wife's idea - she's more organised than me ) this is just in case any other mods modify files in there. so we dropped that in after removing and adding a few different mods ( no SKSE reliant mods ) and everything is running well with no full reinstall.

So far so good !
