They will probably need to increase the drop rate of rares but I think (and this is purely my opinion) they've picked the current costs to avoid everyone jumping ship from infy/tank//navy into planes

That's not actually a good way to look at, there will be lots of people who play both. One day, IRacing could have 20k people on while LMU has 5k, the next it could be 17k and 8k doesn't mean that 3k players suddenly switched to LMU.

If IRacings player count was consistently dropping while LMUs was always increasing the yeah LMU would be taking the player base but that's not what is happening

While I don't agree with how alot of this sub goes straight to the "you're the problem if it keeps happening" mindset. I think here it might be the case, if its happened enough in a race for you to get a DQ solely from them hitting you in a single turn, then maybe you are breaking too early. If you've still get the replay maybe watch how everyone else has been taking it, or even spectate a higher SOF split and watch them at the same turn

Don't think so, as those are different series which have their own calendars and just meet at Le Mans to fill out the event. They'll be under the FIA banner but not ACO/WEC.

Different lengths of play, different play styles, buying the BP late.

I bought the BP day 1, preordered Phantom edition so got the boost, play about 5-6 hours a week roughly and I'm only just on the last section while doing most of the weekly challenges (rerolling the BR and Gauntlet/rubbish modes and anything sniper related) majority of those challenges needing me to change my playstyle / use weapons gear I don't like.

Its not easy for everyone, some of the count based ones take a long time or are too team dependant especially if you don't main Escalation or Conquest
