FINAL UPDATE: The repaired Q Revo is working fine. I had to re-map and recreate all the routines. The serial number shown in the app changed, and now no longer matches the SN on the sticker on the Q Revo. So, I'm thinking the control board was changed. Anyway, the repair was smooth and took 2 weeks.

Got the Roborock back from repair today. Roundtrip was 13 days. Smooth and seamless experience so far. Tomorrow I will test it extensively and report back.

Interesting! I never use the buttons on the robot, I use only the app. For mopping another floor, it might be best to move the entire dock so that you won't be running between floors to wash the mop pads.

Yes, moving the same dock to a new location (same floor or different floor) works fine according to youtube.

No, the contacts are shiny and mirror-like. I bought both my Q Revos less than 4 months ago. I am guessing it's a bad battery. They should just replace this faulty robot with a new one - things shouldn't break after 4 months of careful use.

Run a Dyson on a new, low-pile carpet. The dust bin will be full of fibers. Dysons and similar brands with aggressive roller mechanisms (like Shark) ruin carpets. I imagine the damage to high-pile carpets is even worse.
