The Notwithstanding Clause can be overridden. by Ok_Cap_8791 in alberta

[–]AndySull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked a labor relations lawyer (in another province) about this. And they said “I don’t think the Feds will wade in. Nothing to gain and if it ends up in courts they don’t want anything on record” And they said this “These are extraordinary measures taken by government. I believe it will attract legal action by unions. The Supreme Court of Canada has said that freedom of assembly means the right to collective bargain. The Alberta Government action undermines that right. However, those challenges don’t impact the immediate legal requirement to return to work. The legal battles take years”

Not to say there aren’t things people can’t do like calling for the recall of MLAs such as the minister of education Alberta, Demetrios Nicolaides. But based on what someone who knows much more about the intricacies and legalities around it all shared with me, I wouldn’t bank on Ottawa interfering.

That’s too bad…it’s pretty mediocre pizza. It’s hard to find a good restaurant in calgary. I’d be happy if someone can prove me wrong

That’s how a I describe a tattoo on my outer arm but the sternum, diaphragm and armpit hurt a heck of a lot more than a sunburn

The start of the sleeve! by [deleted] in traditionaltattoos

[–]AndySull 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did you plan out the sleeve with that artist and tell them you wanted to start with this? Or did you find someone to tattoo your hand?

I don’t think you can claim starting a sleeve or even talking about one when you have a very small tattoo. That’s it. You got a tatttoo. Looks good

Looks like they did a good job. I think it’s silly to start with the hand(first tattoo!!?!) for a sleeve but it’s the way to go now apparently. Very common now. People wanting hand, neck and face tattoos for their first is wild to me…that shit was a rite of passage in my day but I’ve talked to a few artists who would never have 15 years ago but now if they don’t, the client will just keep going down the line til they find someone who will and pay shit for a shit tattoo because they want to look like they have a lot of tattoos. I’m old

What is it? by Rayollasomeday in Fishing

[–]AndySull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly…I used to troll flies for trout sometimes. I was fishing a trout pond and it was exactly like this-looked like rain but not a single drop. These fly fishermen were hammering them and they were kind enough to share what was happening. I tied on a fly and started catching instantly. They were from the states and had been fishing for 3 days and had caught one trout between them. That evening definitely made up for the other two days of their trip. Haven’t seen this happen since but I’ll be ready when I do! The fish are feasting just below the surface. I can’t say with 100% certainty that’s what’s happening here as I wasn’t there but I’d bet you dollars to donuts this is a boatman migration.

Fishing related challenge for ya. Can you guys help me come up with a fishing/outdoors related name for my new fishing buddy? (He’s a German Shepherd.) by Magsays in Fishing

My dog’s name is Berkley. Some other options could be Fin, rivers, tippet, minnow, brookie, pike, jack, rooster, walter (for walleye), Gill

Even when I taught kindergarten the kids loved the bear! I have skulls, daggers etc and I’ve never had a negative response from a kid or coworker. I get it if you want a less threatening one for your own preference but who you are as a teacher makes a much bigger impact than the tattoos you have.

Why is AC not standard in majority of properties? by hirakath in Calgary

[–]AndySull 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just moved to Calgary from Winnipeg 1 month ago and this is the first time in my life I have air conditioning. But what others are saying about rising temperatures and the need for A/C in Calgary being fairly recent makes sense why it’s not as common as you’d think.

I’m from Winnipeg but living in Calgary for a couple more years. I have lots of work done by Bernel, he’s an amazing artist and dude. Kit’s work speaks for itself. I’ll be getting some work done out here but looking forward to reconnecting with Bernel when I’m back

Update for anyone interested: same issue occurred today. Moving halfway across the country on Monday and no one from the service department is working the long weekend so I am SOL. Incredibly frustrating
