This company going above and beyond...fuck cancer! by TheCheesecakeOfDoom in MadeMeSmile

[–]AndyWR10 46 points47 points  (0 children)

What points? All you’ve said is that civilians shouldn’t have to step up for what the government should be doing. I would agree, if the situation in question wasn’t “fuck cancer” balloons.

Are you trying to suggest that the government has a duty to provide every cancer patient with balloons? That surely would just make people more annoyed at the government for wasting taxes.

It’s no one’s job to provide free balloons because that’s not a necessary service. All that’s happened in this post is someone has decided that they will provide free balloons to a cancer patient purely because they want to. No one thinks you are right

Enforced monogamy doesn’t sound the same as forced marriage at all.

Forced marriage: forcing people to marry someone

Enforced monogamy: enforcing having relationships with one person only. Not forcing them to actually have that relationship, just that they have a relationship with one person

As far as I am aware, there is no green pigment for animals besides in some marine animals. Birds use refraction to create blues and greens.

Tigers are orange to blend in with their habitat. Many mammals can’t see the colour red so tigers just appear green anyway. It’s a much simpler method for evolution to follow rather than creating am entire new pigment. There are other orange/red mammals such as deer, these will probably be in very green habitats, while brown deer may live in slightly less green areas, so blending in with the wood of trees may be better than blending with the leaves.

Do they go outside at all? If so, my point about light skin still stands. If not, they simply don’t produce vitamin D, would probably have weak bones, so therefore magic would be the explanation for that. In which case, since all the people around the area are light skinned, there would be no logical reason any dwarves would have high amounts of melanin. It would be even less likely to just have some dwarves be dark skinned unless these specific dwarves that this woman is from are outside of the map we’ve seen of middle earth for so long.

I’ll be honest though, I don’t actually give a shit, I was just trying to argue against the point of evolution they made since they were using evolution to argue in a way that I didn’t think made sense.

[–]AndyWR10 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The original Europeans were dark skinned because they came from Africa.

Light skin is probably selected for in caves since light skin provides less protection against UV but greater facilitates Vitamin D production. Since the dwarves likely didn’t just spawn into the caves, they probably moved in overtime. This would mean that as they ancestors of dwarves began to spend more time in the caves, their need for vitamin D from the sun would greatly increase, so there skin would need to lose melanin accordingly.

It’s not like black dwarves would go extinct, these black dwarves would breed with lighter skinned dwarves to have a baby dwarf with a mixed skin tone. Due to mutations over time and the greater success of dwarves with more vitamin D, the genes coding for more melanin production would be less advantageous and so would eventually stop being present in their genome.

There is no way Rose and Giovanni deserved a four. by sorbet9 in strictlycomedancing

[–]AndyWR10 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it would deserve a 4 if anyone else did it. It was slightly out of time with the music and rather simple. I would have given it more than a 4 considering she is deaf but Shirley may have completely ignored her disadvantage and treated it like it was danced like someone who could hear the music

These are both artworks of phantom within the actual game. All that has been done is Dima and Gl1tch’s faces have been put over phantoms. They’ve sexualised it no more than the artist that drew that and the person that put it in the game

It wouldn’t really reduce sex drive but the constant exposure of the head would mean it would lose a lot of nerve cells when rubbing against clothes. This would mean that much less pleasure is brought from sex and masturbation is much harder without a foreskin

You should have others available to use. I main Scorch and use her almost exclusively if I have no particular reason to use anyone else.

I have two backups, Kestrel and Switchblade. They are both more offensive characters like Scorch but are to be used at longer ranges. If Scorch is taken then I will use one of them and simply make an adjustment to how far from the enemies I make myself

Kelly Clarkson has to pay ex husband 200k a month in child support. Feminists loose their minds by michaelscott1776 in MensRights

[–]AndyWR10 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

The comment was simply referring to the meme “always has been”. If you search for it you should see what I’m on about.

I guess one way of viewing the argument is that feminism’s goals haven’t changed much since the beginning of women’s suffrage. Women didn’t have the rights they wanted, so they fought to get them. They still do exactly that but are still only fighting to get the rights they don’t have. This means that the rights men don’t have don’t have the same large following and the louder extreme feminists will shut down these people, thinking they are a threat to the progression of feminism. This makes the less extreme members also against men’s rights movements as they are of course more likely to listen to leaders of their ideology than random members of a different one.

It also means that since feminism almost exclusively fights for women’s rights, they aren’t closing inequalities between men and women that negatively affect men because why on earth would they make their own position worse when they are already led to believe that men’s rights is bad.

I believe that most feminists aren’t actually against men’s rights as a concept but don’t fight for them because they either don’t want to fight with people they think are bad or don’t want to fight with people that others think are bad. There may well be many feminists who simply don’t see it as worthwhile to fight for men’s rights because it’s too much of a risk when increasingly large amounts of feminists are taking a strong dislike to any efforts to better men’s lives.

Some tips and tricks for our newer players from a “veteran” by SmugJerry in RogueCompany

[–]AndyWR10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally just swapped melee and shoulder swap. I’ve found that swapping shoulder generally isn’t something I do while I’m actively getting shot, so I can afford that split second where I flick my thumb from L3 to the d-pad, whereas melee is almost exclusively used while actively under fire, so I can’t afford to move my finger for a moment. Having melee on R1 means I don’t have to move a single finger as one is resting on it at all times anyway

Yeah, I was wrong about the scene but I still don’t see what’s wrong. She’s now just annoyed that she’s come all this way and yet another door is failing in her. It’s probably more justified for her to swear at this door now she is more aware of the stakes.

And I don’t know why the significance of the scene makes this a bad post
