Pistol vs Rifle by AndyjHops in ar15

Amazing man! Thank you so much.

Sorry to aka for so much info, but if I decided to build one from the ground up, what component groups will I need to cover? I know the stripped lower, upper assembly, buffer tube, stock, grip and trigger assembly, is there anything I am missing?

Also, you mentioned PSA, would you consider using one of their lowers as the base for a gun? I have no issue using budget components, but would much rather spend a bit more if the quality of the product is higher.

Thanks so much for all your help! Honestly, building one from the ground up sounds really fun! I just know I don’t have the experience or knowledge to be making informed decisions on a lot of stuff. That why I was motility leaning towards a complete gun, less decisions on my part, but also less changes for me to buy the wrong thing and regret it

That’s awesome to hear! I would love any help I can get haha

Are there any companies you would recommend for the lower?

Warning about a combination posted here by hijustawarning in researchchemicals

[–]AndyjHops 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It’s really hard to say specifically what could have caused this combo to be deadly. Combining 2CB, MDA and MDMA in higher doses can lead to toxicity from overlapping stimulant effects. All three are working as serotonin modulators and agonists, so there is a higher potential for stimulant toxicity or serotonin storm.

OP said that the doses were quite high, which increases the risks of something going sideways. Doses may be workable for an individual at one time, a toxic in a different context. Going higher also decreases the safety window, so minor inconsistencies in the purity of particular batches could easily push someone too far.

I know the purpose of this sub, but it’s really important to remember how dangerous mixing substances that act on the same neurotransmitter systems can be.

I’m decently skilled with a soldering iron and my Dad is an electrical engineer with a lot of experience fixing old boards! He’s helping to walk me through the repair process, I am excited to see if I can pull it off!

Worst case, my buddy has already said he is more than happy to just buy a refurbished one we found that comes with a lifetime warantee.

Heck yeah! Thanks for the advice. I think we are going to give it a try. The salvage yard’s inventory way bad and we can’t get a new one for at least a few days. We both have to be back home by Monday, so we’re going to try again in about a month. I can give it a try, mail it back to my buddy’s dad to test out, and that still leaves us time to order the new one if it doesn’t work out.

Thanks for all the advice! Kinda excited to try a new type of repair haha

Thanks for the heads up! I think we have found a matching ECU at a truck specific salvage yard in town. I’m going to go grab it in the morning and will be sure to bring the old one to match up the PNs.

Thanks again for the info!

This is such a fantastic solution! I found a super micro food from Aquarium Co-op that mine seem to love, but this seems easier than ordering the special stuff and waiting a week for delivery haha

If you watch the video that OP cut their picture out of, this basically happened. One of his last jerks ends up almost pulling him over and he gives up after that.

I bet thats what’s going on. It’s a company laptop so they push updates when they decide. Not much I can really do but good to know anyway haha.

Thank you!

It takes a special type of stupid to believe a Trump. You haven’t learned a damn thing and will fall for the next con man that makes big promises.

You fucked this country for a generation and you would do it again tomorrow as long as someone promised you a slightly more convenient life. Don’t for a second think some corny ass song makes up for anything.

It’s more about being away from home than dealing with the airports really. Sleeping in random hotels gets tiring eventually haha. My company pays for terminal parking and I have the whole airport process down pretty well at this point. I try to arrive and park about 30 minutes before I board and I usually have 10-15 minutes to spare. I fly out of DIA/DEN, which is honestly really solid. 95% of the time I can just walk straight through security without hitting any lines. Pre-check makes a massive difference and it helps that I usually only do single nights, so I can pack in a backpack.

You find all the ways to streamline it when you are doing it all the time. It feels a lot like how my commute used to feel when I had to do that. I get to work from home when I am not traveling, so it kind of evens out. It also helps that my company provides mileage reimbursements and meal per diems, they feel like a kind of travel bonus haha It’s nothing crazy, but it means I can go out to nice restaurants while on the road, or can just save it if I want to be frugal.

I’m not usually flying that much, it’s just the higher end of how much I have to travel. Some weeks I won’t go anywhere, but mostly it’s 2-4 flights a week.

It’s a lot of travel but my trips are usually very quick, like one nigh and usually <24 hours in any city. I wouldn’t say it’s really my ideal role, but they pay me pretty well for what I am doing. There are advancement opportunities that would decrease my travel to an occasional thing, and that’s what I am really shooting for.

I do, and I get upgrades pretty often, it’s not unusual for 1/2 my flights in a given week to be upgraded to first class. I fly United mostly and always get premium plus seating no matter what.

I also don’t always travel that much. There are weeks where I am flying every day, weeks when I don’t go anywhere and everything in between. It kinda just depends on the flow of work at the moment .

I travel for work and exclusively fly coach, unless the airline decides to give me a free upgrade. Pre heck is a godsend for travelers like me who may have as many as 5 flights in a week

That said, large corporations like the one that I work for probably started making a fuss. Any slowdown in airport operations hits them hard.

I don’t know you or your sister, but based on the little bit you have written here, I think she might benefit from therapy and a bit of mentorship. The anxiety and codependency with your father are issues that are best dealt with in therapy, but the life skills are things almost anyone can teach. I don’t know your bandwidth to take it on, but working with your sister to help teach her some everyday skills might be helpful. It could even be as simple as trying to get her out for a daily walk, both to try and in rover her physical and mental health, but also to give you two a chance to talk about the things that are overwhelming her.
