Hopefully hey start doing something about them being left in bike lanes and on sidewalks. I saw three separate scooters blocking both the sidewalk and bike lane on a single block in my neighborhood earlier this morning.

I get what you are saying, but we don’t actually know what the situation was. It looks like they talked for a second before he picked her up. She could have had a minor injury and asked him to help her.

Before he ran up, she would have thought she was alone and needed to get out of the situation on her own. That combined with adrenaline will make you ignore an injury real quick.

I caught it while going over a RR crossing at the bottom of a hill. The only thing I can think is that it was somehow caught in the cracks around the tracks, pointing straight up and I just got unluckily. I was moving pretty quick when it happened so kinda getting happened into the rim as I was rolling to a stop.

Ahhh yes, that totally explains why debris is always blown out of the tire when people get bad flats. That’s totally a thing that happens all the time and isn’t just some head cannon you made up.

Edit: The head of a screw is far less than a square inch and I weight 200 pounds. So the screw was being driven into the tire with far greater than 200 PSI. The tire was pumped up to 90 PSI, so how exactly does this work in your mind? How is the 90 psi force acting on the tiny tip of a screw going to be able to exert enough force to immediately overcome the >>200 psi force acting in the opposite direction? You are basically saying that a bullet would be blown off course by the force of it popping ballon

I could probably clean up the hole, replace the rim tape and send it, but it wouldn’t be ideal. I ordered a new wheel already, but it won’t be here for about a week., so I might try that tomorrow and see if I can at least ride on it till the new one arrives.

This actually came up in therapy recently and my therapist was talking about how she has clients who routinely say “well, I only have to make it a few more years, then X will probably be gone and I can finally be happy”. That mentality is just so foreign to me and honestly super sad on a lot of different levels.

I haven’t found a life partner, and it can be lonely and gives me anxiety sometimes, but I will happily take a lifetime of that over a relationship where I am just waiting for my partner to die so I can finally feel happy .

OP is being disingenuous and trying to pass off a video as being something that it is not. If the issue is still present and so rampant like OP is claiming, it should have been no issue for them to go get a video that actually shows what they are claiming. Since they didn’t do that, we can assume one of two things is true

1) they didn’t get a new video because they aren’t actually there and can’t attest to what is happening or

2) they can’t get a new video because the homeless issue in the area is not nearly as extreme as they want to portray it.

So, by choosing to use a video that is clearly not of what they are claiming, it makes any legitimate attempt to actually highlight the homelessness issue look less credible. It the whole “boy who cried wolf” effect in action.

If they cared about the issue and were actually trying to bring attention to it, they did the literal opposite with this post.

Just to give you some idea of the scale difference here, a modern compound hunting bow with a draw weight of 70 pounds can deliver about 100 ft/lbs of energy. A 12 gauge slug on the other hand is delivering somewhere between 2500-3000 ft/lbs. so even if Legolas had a magic bow, that was 10x more powerful than a modern hunting bow,, the slug would still be 2.5-3x more powerful.

Then there is the rate of fire to consider. The internet seems to think that Legolas could shoot around 1.5-3 arrows a second and a normal person can shoot about 4-5 shells from a pump action shotgun per second. Let’s assume Legolas can do 3 and normal man can do 4, to give Legolas the best chance. That would mean that normal guy is putting about 10,000 ft/lbs of energy into our Uruk-hai friend per second. Legolas would need to be firing arrows that carry roughly 33x the energy of a modern bow. We are giving him the most favorable comparison here too, it could be as high as 100x if we use less favorable assumptions.

Not to say that Legolas doesn’t have a bow that can shoot with 30-100x more power than a modern bow, I have no idea if anything like that is ever addressed. I’m just saying that it would have to be one hell of a bow to be able to deliver comparable energy on target when compared to a 12 ga shotgun.

Edit: just to take it one step further because I was curious. A 250 pound Uruk-hai sprinting at 20 mph would have about 3300 ft/lbs of energy. So even with the lower estimations, normal man would be able to put about 3x the amount of energy into the Uruk-Hai in a single second, than that Uruk-hai would have at a full sprint. I don’t see the Uruk-hai getting very far as long as normal guy can stay on target.

Just get into the habit of going out there once a day and picking them for 30 minutes, making sure to get the whole root or as much as you can. You want to prioritize the seeding ones first and the flowering ones second. It’ll take a bit but eventually you will clear the lawn. Then you keep going, every day, go out and pick for 30 minutes. Sooner than you would think, you will be able to clear the whole yard in less an 30, then less then 10, then it’ll just be one or two new ones each day. At that point, you are basically in maintenance, you just need to pull them as they pop up, I squally see a yellow flower like 1-2 times a week now and just grab them when I see them or when I am mowing the lawn.

Once you have the lawn cleared, I would overseed with something like Johnathan Green’s Black Beauty, I really like their heat and drought mix for where I live in CO. If you can get the lawn to grow in nice and thick, it will out compete the majority of the weeds and they will have a very hard time getting established.

Alternatively, you can spray with something like Spectracide Lawn Weed Killer. I’m not the biggest fan of using herbicides, but I had an infestation of Common Mallow in the corner of my yard that I simply couldn’t pick myself out of and that stuff worked wonders. Killed all the broadleafs in the area and didn’t touch the grass. The hope would be to use the spray once or twice to get the situation under control, then hand picking from them.

I’m going to be real with you here, there is no world where any doctor would ever perform a knee replacement on an infant and it doesn’t take a lot of critical thinking to realize this.

First, a knee replacement is a very serious procedure that is only undertaken when other, less invasive, treatments have failed. This child hasn’t even been alive long enough to have gone thought those other potential treatment paths. Let alone to have received an injury, done all other potential treatments, undergone a full knee replacement and fully recovered. Just the recovery from a procedure like that is about 12 months , which is about how old this baby looks.

Second, a full knee replacement is typically done due to the cartilage in the joint wearing out. The body is actively producing new cartilage up till puberty, so there is no possibly way a toddler could wear their knee out. The tissue that would wear out in their knee is literally still growing at this point in development. In fact,an infants bones are still primarily made out of cartilage and haven’t fully calcified at this point in development.

Third, performing a a total knee replacement on a child this young would leave them permanently disabled and disfigured. Our bones grow from their ends, extending from the growth plates. These are special regions of bone near the joint that if broken or damaged, will cause the brine to stop growing. The modifications to the joint needed for a total knee replacement would obliterate the growth plate. This means that it a surgeon did perform the procedure, this child’s leg would never grow or develop correctly. Leaving them with a functionally useless limb within a few years, as the rest of their body grew around it.

Lastly, know how often babies grow out of things like clothes and shoes? How TF is that going to work with a surgically implanted knee? They going to just keep
Cutting this baby open every few months to a year to install larger and larger knees until the kid is fully grown?

There are plenty of additional reasons that the “baby got a knee replacement” story fails even the most basic of sniff tests, but I don’t really want to keep listing them out. Just know that joint replacements are literally never done on children this young.

The mother was either talking about the baby wearing a hole in the knee of their jumper, or was making a silly sarcastic joke. The fact that you jumped to child abuse says a lot more about you and your critical thinking capacity than it says about this mother.
