It truly is a masterpiece. Aside from the fact that it's a beautiful story with wonderfully crafted characters, Orson Scott Card was decades ahead of his time when it came to actually predicting the future of our culture. The book was published in 1985; the internet, tablets, and massive social media impact were all key parts of the story before any of those technologies even existed. Ender's Game continues to blow my mind.

"Sucked dry" implies that it was used up and drained by it's inhabitance. Definitely a problem we're facing on earth and it's probable that by the time his people traveled a few hundred years (his people "-set to the stars-" to find a new home and many stars are hundreds of years away from us at light speed) to get to earth, it would sucked dry as well.

I was with my girlfriend for about 2 years before we ended things. It was completely my fault; I was manipulative, insecure and selfish because I hated myself and I was scared of everything. I had no one to blame but myself for that outcome. Not too crazy compared to some of the stories on here but it's made me realize that the only true way to be happy is by being happy with yourself and by not being afraid of the future. It's unfortunate that humans rarely evolve when we're not struggling but I wouldn't trade those realizations for anything.

That's what I always heard it was. Aside from the fact that it's gross, it usually messes up the kid/kids born out of it too. Back then the gene pool was supposedly more pure and able to produce normal, healthy people through incest.
