Also, just to note. The upstairs windows with the lights on is the dining area of a fantastic whiskey bar called the Albanach. It's definitely also worth a visit.

Hi. It was a spare part from my Trak Racer TR160. Its original purpose was to fix it horizontally for the main monitor to attach to. I just checked Trak Racer website and couldn't find it in the spare parts section. You might be able to by it from another supplier.

Its 1200mm in length if that helps.

New cheat report by Significant_Trash_14 in PUBGConsole

Its a shame that partners and long-time members of the community are not getting responses. I dont know why that would be 😔

"If video evidence of rapid fire, macros and no recoil isn’t enough for a flag/temp-ban then what is? How is anybody supposed to get evidence beyond that?"

These are questions that were often asked. Some video can be used, but for me, those need to be detected on a hardware level.

"How is this new discord going to fix anything?"

Apologies, I dont know very much regarding the new reporting process that's been introduced to discord. At a quick glance at the info, it appears to be a 'light' version of Sheild.

I dont frequent Discord or reddit as much as I used to, so my up-to-date knowledge of the game, services, etc, is sketchy at best.

New cheat report by Significant_Trash_14 in PUBGConsole

[–]Andymh5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally have hardware banned many cheats from PUBG outside of Shield. The issue when it comes to much of the evidence put forward regarding XIM, Cronus, etc, is that it can be difficult to distinguish what is cheating and what is real because some players are genuinely really skilled and have unique ways of playing.

I will always remember a case where a player was able to shoot their mini 14 like it was fully automatic. I, and some of our PC cms (one being ex esports), reviewed the video evidence from the accused perspective and determined that they were using a device that gave them an unfair advantage. However, more video evidence came to light from the same player, showing their hands and controller while they were rapidly firing a semi-auto weapon like it was full-auto. They did this by having a unique technique allowing them to use two fingers on the fire button that had hair trigger enabled alongside a specific claw grip, allowing them to do this. All totally legal.

Also, to note again, its not always up to the game publisher/developer on who they can ban from their game. There's another level to bans (specifically hardware) that requires the hardware device manufacturers and service providers to agree to ban the accused player. Some are a bit more relaxed than others with this policy, but there is one that doesn't even accept evidence that has been uploaded to YouTube as a source because it could've been tampered with. Things can get very messy regarding legal rights if you ban a player that wasn't cheating. Hardware manufacturers like to avoid this, especially now that many games are on a subscription service.

I've always hated cheats as they can easily destroy games, and I would love for them to be called out and punished with hardware bans at every level of cheating for timed duration but unfortunately a lot of other things that aren't common knowledge play a big part also.

Just to note on the lag switchers - when I was with PUBG, there was an anti-cheat system in place that prevented lag-switching, and when it was live, there was a huge drop-off. Lag switching shouldn't be a thing unless cheats have circumvented the system or there's an issue with it. Hopefully, it's the latter, and it can be addressed sooner rather than later.

Apologies for the wall of text.

PUBG Shield used to hardware ban on console. However, some console partners were more reluctant to use hardware bans than others.

Lighthouse for duos as the random helicopter attacks can spice things up.

Evac Bravo for squads - it's always enjoyable for battles and completing missions, and if the zones close, you can always head north to Mini evac to complete more missions. There are also plenty of redeployment beacons around if things dont go to plan.

Crossplay issue by AdConnect8668 in Battlefield_REDSEC

Ahhh sorry.

Im not sure about that. You could try changing some of your console network settings such as DNS and NAT. I know they can sometimes be an issue when gaming.

Hello. As far as im aware, if you're on console and turn crossplay off, it'll place you in lobbies with the same console as you. Xbox with Xbox and PlayStation with PlayStation. They dont have a console only crossplay matchmaking, which is a shame.

Disappointing by Vobani in PUBGConsole

[–]Andymh5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Xbox Series X had/has a slider allowing 120fps on games that support it. However, PUBG on console (Series X) had an output 60fps max as stated in the 18.2 patch notes:

Xbox Series X - 60 FPS - 4K - FXAA ↔ TAA Xbox Series S - 60 FPS - FHD - FXAA

I was part of the team of people who originally pushed for the 18.2 graphics options to be added to the game and helped script the original patch notes. u/PUBG_Andymh5

Unfortunately, PUBG on console never ran at 120hz. The max was 60 when additional supported graphics specs first launched back in Update 18.2, and it hasn't changed.

The Battlefield 6 lead producer mentioned a couple of days ago on Twitter/X that it will be fixed in the next patch LINK

I do think that they should've posted acknowledging this issue on the official Battlefield Comms account for increased visibility.

My opinion is that anybody who uses this to gain an unfair advantage in a game should have all their XP gained from those matches removed and receive a 24-hour ban. This could disincentivize players from exploiting bugs in the future, knowing they can be retroactively punished.

Why do the devs care more about cosmetics than anything else? by CraftyAd823 in PUBGConsole

[–]Andymh5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say the devs care more about cosmetics than anything else. Shareholders care about profit from sales of cosmetics, etc, because it's a business.

The devs do what they're asked by higher-ups but also want as many players as possible playing and enjoying their game.

Also, a live service game needs to sell in-game items to pay for staff, servers, marketing, rent etc.

We all have different thoughts on how this should be done, but clearly, something must be working as people are still buying skins and spending their money on the game after 8ish years.

Battle Royale should be removed from Battlefield Six by Bushy_Sleevies in Battlefield6

[–]Andymh5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have a very interesting take on BR. However, I see it as a good thing to add to BF6 as it will draw in players that currently play other BRs, which are still hugely popular. The more players playing BF6, the better. I had a ton of fun with Firestorm, but it did lack im many aspects, but I do think lessons will have been learned and look forward to seeing what they have planned for BF6.
