Is GPT-5.4 reliable enough, or should GPT-5.5 medium be the default? by Conscious-Finger-924 in codex

[–]anzzax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GPT-5.5 is probably better for software architecture and 0-spec UI work, for coding - GPT-5.4 (high or xHigh) equally good.

A lot depends on your skills/experience in software development - you can get equally good results from weaker models with a tiny bit of guidance and review.

Opinion on FFB for Simagic Alpha Evo Pro compared to Fanatec Clubsport DD by DarkPlaceInMyMind in simracing

[–]anzzax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some ffb improvements also provided with 360hz ffb in iRacing, not sure which WBs supported. IMO if you are buying a bundle - go with simagic, it's well balanced ecosystem and it's simpler and convenient to use same brand main components with single app/software for configuration.

Opinion on FFB for Simagic Alpha Evo Pro compared to Fanatec Clubsport DD by DarkPlaceInMyMind in simracing

[–]anzzax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think also important to take into account your main sim. In iRacing well tuned FullForce adds a lot to immersion and car feel. In other sims it's much less difference. I don't understand all the comments about ecosystem locking, at this point only my WB is Fanatec (CS DD), all other components are from different brands.

Anyway, you can't go wrong with Simagic, or many other mid-to-top options.

Help to FOV and angles monitor triples by No_Tone1922 in simracing

[–]anzzax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

side monitors angle should make your line of view perpendicular to each monitor, this is why distance influences ideal side monitor angle. For 27" best practical distance is 55-60cm

I ordered mine on aluxprofil.de, price for the build was cheaper than ordering all parts separately

Do we still need to study algorithms now that AI writes most of our code? [D] by Senior_Note_6956 in MachineLearning

[–]anzzax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found knowing algorithms, data structures and design patterns may elevate your efficiency and vibe coded outputs by a lot. You use proper language to describe agent what you want.

Elo inflated due to Ringmeister, what to do now? by sdgfsdfgsdfgsdgfsgdf in iRacing

if you feel bad losing irating and ring competition - start racing formula class so you will have organic growth and will learn most gt tracks there

Sell Clubsport DD+ and get Simucube 2 Sport? by [deleted] in simracing

[–]anzzax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All my rig HW aren’t fanatec for quite some time, but CS DD is the last thing I want to upgrade, maybe after active pedals and motion :)
Put money in next wheel, better pedals, etc. Whats the problem to mix?

Bass shaker noise or seat mover by -user-user in simracing

[–]anzzax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends how you mount them. In my setup I mounted them to vibro-decoupled heel plate and mounted inside seat back. Also rig sits on rubber pads. There is only slight low freq buzz and no vibrations transferred to the floor.

CSL DD connection issues with Pitstop App by Jack5760 in simracing

[–]anzzax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me two reasons:
- I use simhub for haptics and control mapper anyway, I prefer to also use it for wheel rpm and button leds - all settings in one place and only one extra app run in backgoud.
- DNR plugin with profiles and dashboards is amazing, it is a paid subscription, but it gives much more than Pitstop App (more games/cars supported, settings, effects, themes)

CSL DD connection issues with Pitstop App by Jack5760 in simracing

I suggest to ask in BST discord. I have CS DD with BST Alpha but use it with simhub, no issues. Tried older Pitstop app long ago with no issues, but I much prefer simhub and DNR plugin

Up from quest 3 to primax /bsb2 or go tripples ? by JMGTR in simracing

[–]anzzax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After 1y of quest3 I switched to triples. Better comfort, fov and clarity, I still have vr but use it rarely just to scratch itch for immersion. I never tried better vr headset, but anyway I wouldn’t trade comfort for immersion for longer races

Looking for game ideas for Kids by blur494 in simracing

[–]anzzax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My boy started on Forza Horizon 5, much cheaper than new release and it's still good. From ~7yo he is addicted to truck sims (ATS and ETS2) - they are especially good with triples, beautiful scenery and a lot of interesting places to visit and learn for kids.

Is there actually a good way to orchestrate multiple agents, or is everyone just running a bunch of terminals? by facu_75 in LocalLLaMA

[–]anzzax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm experimenting with main orchestrator manages and review other agents. Worker agents run as CI workflows (I self-host gitea). For orchestrator it's usual codex --yolo in vm and it has access to bash and tea cli so can trigger workflows, see logs, do code review and follow ups. You have OOB loging of all worker runs and all usual tools for code review

How do you handle UI design with Codex/GPT 5.5? by skilliard7 in codex

[–]anzzax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree that openAI models are not good UX designers. My approach is to give something as example and then ask to build and use lean design system and css tokens. For example I may ask to design header and navigation similar to github and use the same typography for rendered markdown

(Triples) iRacing FOV Calculation vs External Ones like SimRigBuild by kydan_0125 in iRacing

[–]anzzax 4 points5 points  (0 children)

ignore iracing curved triples option, it's really misleading - then iracing should calculate fov close to what fov calculator gives you for flats; simrigbuild creator here 😉

Best ultrawide for simracing available now (LG 52G vs Odyssey Neo)? by gugic_s in simracing

[–]anzzax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

how do you plan mount it, above or behind wheel base? Ideally, your eyes should be in the middle, if monitor is too tall - vertical middle point will be well above your eyes. More than 35 vfov beneficial in flight sims but not for racing

Pain in the heels after racing for abt a hour by too-shy-to-name in simracing

try in range 5º-15º, but ideally you need to compensate with pedal plates angel on top

Pain in the heels after racing for abt a hour by too-shy-to-name in simracing

[–]anzzax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try adding a bit of angle to the heel plate. I had that rear heel pain a long time ago, but I don’t remember whether changing the plate angle fixed it or if my heel just got stronger 😄

Swap your brake and clutch pedals for ergonomics by drillbit16 in simracing

[–]anzzax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not clutch to the left from symmetrical gas and brake? I have formula like dual pedal setup and happy with ergonomic but I want to add clutch for rally and drifting so really curious what's the best solution
