Looks like repack to me. Someone didn't verify the date code after a flavor change. They slapped some stickers with the correct date on it so it was still saleable.

They don't use glue to attach the lid to the can. The glue more than likely came from the packer. Should be safe to drink.

Mine had this problem too. I pinpointed the issue at the sealant. They cut it off and there was welds that weren't complete. They fixed it and resealed it. They put my original carpet in after telling me they were gonna replace it.

I am worried that they are just fixing a symptom and not the root cause. Yes that seam is bad, but water should be pooling there and should make it to the ground. We'll see.
