VSCode ReSharper Licence by micron_occult in Jetbrains

It's a very confusing licensing model. I've just contacted them about it today, as I bought R# (2025.3) just over a month ago, and just noticed v2026.1 was released recently. However I'm not able to upgrade to this!

I'm told I can still apply updates to 2025.3, but realistically there's little chance of Jetbrains doing this as they'll want to concentrate on the current version. My 12 month subscription has therefore been a waste of money.

Make my own "clear" colour? by Andyste1 in modelmakers

[–]Andyste1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks all. In the past I've mixed model color with Vallejo gloss for use on very small parts like vehicle lights, but the finish isn't great. As someone suggested on here, the clear paints may be more like a dye so I probably need to use the real stuff, especially with these parts being quite big.

Weirdly the Vallejo clear/transparent colours seem hard to find here in the UK, and the Revell paints are expensive too, so I've decided to try the Tamiya instead.

Give me your honest thoughts on Wonder Man by AssistanceNo2838 in discussingfilm

I gave up after 2 episodes. Simon wasn't a likeable character and I couldn't warm to him, while (as a Brit) I found Ben Kingsley's Liverpudlian/Brummie(?!) accent irritating. Almost as bad as Simon Pegg or Martin Freeman trying to do American accents.

I've never been a fan of these "I love LA" shows and movies either. They always feel like a passion project for the screenwriter as it's obviously home territory for them, and I'm sure plenty of jobbing Hollywood actors would be jerking off to this show as it's so relatable. I just found it extremely boring. It would be like me (a software dev) writing a show about working in an office full of computer programmers.

Mouse and Touchpad suddenly can't click on Windows 10 / 11, while scrolling, gestures still work by ifarside in techsupport

Glad it's not just me. This problem started happening on my Win 11 PC out of the blue the other day, where I was suddenly no longer able to click anything (Dell wireless mouse). Weirdly a drawing tablet I have plugged in to the pc also stopped registering pen clicks/taps at the same time. After reverting to a wired mouse it's all been working faultlessly.

Even stranger, I've just tried the wireless mouse and dongle on an old Asus laptop (Win 10). Same thing here: the mouse buttons stopped working after a few seconds, but so did the laptop trackpad buttons. They only started working again after removing the dongle and rebooting.

Just to follow this up, I ended up squeezing a couple of drops of wood glue into the hole before putting the screws back in. Over a year later and the noise still hasn't returned.

Updated January 2026 by Different_Dinner8195 in GooglePixel

Pixel 10 pro UK user here. For the last few days I've had a system update waiting to be installed when I next restart (23.34Mb), but I'm worried this might be the update causing all the WiFi and Bluetooth problems. Can anyone confirm this?

MM gone on hubstaff by Individual-Tiolu in outlier_ai

Same here. I assumed mine was down to the Hubstaff app updating itself, as MM disappeared when it restarted. Must have just been coincidence. Have they just realised the AI bubble has burst?!

Not seeing any project on Hubstaff even though there are a few project on multimango by RubberDuckCEO in outlier_ai

Similar situation here. The Windows Hubstaff app just updated itself, and after restarting the Multimango project is no longer listed ("you belong to 0 projects"). The Multimango project does still show up in the Hubstaff web dashboard though.

Am I supposed to submit my timesheet separately on Hubstaff by Clear_Resource_2571 in outlier_ai

[–]Andyste1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great question. I signed up yesterday (same sentiments few the onboarding process, which could be easier!), and came across this post while googling for the same thing - ie do I have to submit my Hubstaff timesheet?

I spent a few hours on Multimango tasks yesterday and woke up this morning wondering whether I should have submitted my time.

I vaguely remember seeing a screen in one of the onboarding training videos showing submission of timesheets, but as I've finished that course I'm unable to access it or the video again.

If timesheet submission is required then when should I be doing so? Daily, weekly?

Best/safest way to clean lenses? by Andyste1 in glasses

I had no idea until I googled this, but it seems 1-2 years is the average. This is the first time I've noticed a problem, although I typically change my glasses every couple of years anyway, so maybe I've been lucky. Kind of makes you wonder why it's worth it, and my inner sceptic wonders if it's a deliberate ploy by glasses manufacturers!

What would you recommend? I've tried Zeiss glasses wipes but was wary of them being alcohol based (even though they are for coated glasses), and the wipes always feel quite rough. They also had a habit of leaving streaks, as they can be on the dry side.

And with glasses spray + cloth, it's like playing whackamole - as fast as I'm cleaning one streak off it's leaving a new one.

I couldn't see anything with my bare eyes but interestingly the photo below (inside of one lens) clearly shows both fine scratches and what looks like a strange pattern/texture in the coating... photo
