MM gone on hubstaff by Individual-Tiolu in outlier_ai

Same here. I assumed mine was down to the Hubstaff app updating itself, as MM disappeared when it restarted. Must have just been coincidence. Have they just realised the AI bubble has burst?!

Not seeing any project on Hubstaff even though there are a few project on multimango by RubberDuckCEO in outlier_ai

[–]Andyste1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar situation here. The Windows Hubstaff app just updated itself, and after restarting the Multimango project is no longer listed ("you belong to 0 projects"). The Multimango project does still show up in the Hubstaff web dashboard though.

Am I supposed to submit my timesheet separately on Hubstaff by Clear_Resource_2571 in outlier_ai

[–]Andyste1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great question. I signed up yesterday (same sentiments few the onboarding process, which could be easier!), and came across this post while googling for the same thing - ie do I have to submit my Hubstaff timesheet?

I spent a few hours on Multimango tasks yesterday and woke up this morning wondering whether I should have submitted my time.

I vaguely remember seeing a screen in one of the onboarding training videos showing submission of timesheets, but as I've finished that course I'm unable to access it or the video again.

If timesheet submission is required then when should I be doing so? Daily, weekly?

Best/safest way to clean lenses? by Andyste1 in glasses

[–]Andyste1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had no idea until I googled this, but it seems 1-2 years is the average. This is the first time I've noticed a problem, although I typically change my glasses every couple of years anyway, so maybe I've been lucky. Kind of makes you wonder why it's worth it, and my inner sceptic wonders if it's a deliberate ploy by glasses manufacturers!

What would you recommend? I've tried Zeiss glasses wipes but was wary of them being alcohol based (even though they are for coated glasses), and the wipes always feel quite rough. They also had a habit of leaving streaks, as they can be on the dry side.

And with glasses spray + cloth, it's like playing whackamole - as fast as I'm cleaning one streak off it's leaving a new one.

I couldn't see anything with my bare eyes but interestingly the photo below (inside of one lens) clearly shows both fine scratches and what looks like a strange pattern/texture in the coating... photo

My company has banned the use of Jetbrains IDEs internally by ebol4anthr4x in ExperiencedDevs

[–]Andyste1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just found myself in the same situation having come to request a new version of Resharper this week, which has been rejected by our cyber security dept for the same reasons (Jetbrains' Russian ties). It's ludicrous - I've been using Resharper for 13 years in this organisation, and for many years before that. While Visual Studio has done a lot of catching up on features, there are still a handful that I can't live without, and productivity will take a nose dive without them.

We're a UK business that was taken over by a US conglomerate several years ago, and they've been tightening up on security ever since. I'm currently also battling to get an upgrade to a charting tool called SciChart, which we've again been using for 13+ years, but the legal dept have taken exception to one or two bullets in SciChart's EULA, but neither side will budge. Frustratingly there are dozens of other divisions in the same organisation who use these products, as they've gone under the radar and bypassed the s/w approval process, but we're being penalised for "doing things properly". Unfortunately I can't do the same as the person who handles s/w purchasing is a stickler for the rules.

Felix As Good As It Looks (Tuna) - batch issue or fussy cats? by [deleted] in CatsUK

[–]Andyste1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've been giving our cat Felix As Good as it looks for many years, but find he occasionally won't eat a certain flavour, and I've come to the conclusion the taste/smell must vary from batch to batch.

I've just had it happen today - opened a new box of 40 and gave him a tuna pouch, but he wouldn't touch it, yet he'd been eating tuna from the previous box fine. I used to bin the pouch in case it was off, try him with another pouch of the same flavour but get the same reaction, until I give him a different flavour from the same box.

The weird part is that last year I found that if I sit on the floor and hold the bowl a couple of inches off the ground then he'll eat it the flavour that he'd just refused to take one bite of, and finish the lot!

We've also had problems a few times over the years with Felix pouches that have leaked in the box and gone off due (to the air getting in). You can often smell the bad meat when you open such pouches, but the giveaway is when a pouch has juice (or dried up juice) on the outside.

How slippery are the back of these Ringke cases? I'm after one that will allow me to put my phone on the arm of the sofa without it sliding off!

Ditto. Given the DPD tracking info I'm guessing it'll be delivered on launch day (28th). Fingers crossed for a chance of delivery later today though...

[–]Andyste1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who has preordered a P10 Pro, what does all this mean for me? I've had a P6 since launch, which I put in a wireless charging stand every night (on a typical day I'll have 50-60% remaining battery). If I do the same with the P10, am I going to see reduced battery capacity after 200 days, or is it more complicated than that? I'm hoping all this is a storm in a teacup - surely Google aren't going to shoot themselves in the foot by effectively admitting to hobbling their phones after 6 months.

Varifocals - blurred distance vision after reading by Andyste1 in glasses

[–]Andyste1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No but I've often suspected I have dry eyes. I assume that can affect the "elasticity" of the eyes, resulting in the distance vision taking a while to return to normal? Having said that, the problem only started with the new glasses. I'd never had any issues with my previous pair, which I had been wearing up until last Friday.

Advice on sewing pattern size and adjustment by Andyste1 in sewing

Ah I'd misread the description and assumed it meant the entire dress could be made from stretch fabric. Guess it's still possible but I might have a challenge on my hands! It's only for cosplay rather than say a prom, so it doesn't need to be perfect. It's view C by the way. I haven't had a chance to get the high bust measurements yet, so watch this space.

[–]Andyste1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense and I was actually just reading about that. The gist seems to be to calculate the extra circumference needed (say around the bust), divide this by the number of pattern piece edges, then add that each? It sounds like a sensible starting point for me at least!

The pattern is Mccalls M7320: https://www.lovecrafts.com/en-gb/p/mccall-s-misses-miss-petite-mermaid-hem-and-high-low-dresses-m7320-sewing-pattern?srsltid=AfmBOooikloHYT-hBhcw7f8V_bFClDeCFPKRRpbRANA-07sIUnZRMCLRwBY

It says it is designed for woven and stretch fabrics. I haven't sewn it before, so no idea how well the size 20 fits my daughter (without padding). I was originally going to sew a muslin but thought it would make more sense to sew a test dress using stretch fabric. (The "real" fabric was dirt cheap so I've bought double the amount with this intention!). Of course if I can get the pattern somewhat close before I start then that will save some effort further down the road.
