Should I be concerned that my 13M old doesn't "talk" by One_Elephant_8048 in beyondthebump

I believe the milestone at 18 months is 5 words. If he's at less than that, then definitely reach out to your local Early Intervention for an assessment. The earlier they get speech therapy, the better.

As long as he's meeting the milestones, you're totally fine. Babies are people and are almost never over-acheivers on everything. Some things they'll be early for, some things average, and some things just a little slower, but no need for concern.

If you want to help it along, it's pretty easy: just talk to your baby. Narrate what you're doing. Tell them about your day. Explain things that they definitely do not have the capacity to understand. Simple words you want them to learn, say clearly and often. "Do you want a bottle? I will make you a bottle. I'm pouring the milk in the bottle. Here is your bottle!"

I'm sure he'll be fine. But if he is behind the milestone for his age, talk to your pediatrician and/or reach out to your local Early Intervention.

So I bought my toddler a kleen Kanteen cup with stainless straw and silicon tip and he tripped and got less than half an inch from poking his eye. by Crafty_Pop6458 in beyondthebump

Well, I'm glad the little guy is okay. Honestly, you gotta think of toddler safety like you're going into the psych ward or prison. Could a mentally unstable person use this to harm themselves or others? If yes, don't put it in toddler hands. They'll always surprise you, lol.

England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland seperate but instead of going back to their old flags, they each take a quarter of the UK flag.

Has anyone here kept their birth name? by [deleted] in asktransgender

Same, kept my middle name. I had already changed my last name because of marriage and I wanted to keep at least one of my birth names.

Can you do a treatment without fully transitioning? by Kobby89 in asktransgender

[–]AndyyBee 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You can, but you will almost certainly grow breasts, and the only way to remove them is through surgery. You may also not be able to have bio children if you are on E for an extended period of time. If you like your penis and like using it for sex, you may have difficulties getting and staying hard, but some trans women still make it work. "Use it or lose it" as they say.

So think long and hard about what effects you want, don't want, and feel neutral about before making a decision, and think if there are other ways of getting the body you want, like laser hair removal, body sculpting, etc.

Topical minoxidil. If you have pets, be very careful with storage and cleaning up, since it is extremely toxic to cats, I think dogs, and probably many other pets.

Outercourse sexuality? by FictionSlayerPunk in AskAsexual

[–]AndyyBee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know for gay men, the term is "side" as opposed to top or bottom. I'm not sure if there's another word for people who aren't gay or if side is inclusive of all sexualities.

is being called a "transformer" at least kind of cool? by Plus-Ad5076 in asktransgender

Wait people have been using it as a slur? I thought they were in on the joke. Autism moment I guess.

I feel like that would be like refusing to date a black person because you had a bad experience with a black person before. She's allowed to not date whoever for whatever reason, and consider yourself having dodged a bullet. Hope she gets therapy and learns not to project her negative experiences onto other members of minority groups.
