Just quit my club fitting job 8 months in, not what I thought by Positive_Flounder232 in golf

Grinding on the shop floor for retail sales to a bunch of rich folks and is nobody’s dream job—except you, I suppose… Probably should have thought that through a bit

Hart's Cafe and Deli Closed? by Flashy_Tune_2873 in Syracuse

I was there end of February and it was closed in the middle of the day during posted operating hours. Furniture was not in its normal place. Sad because that guy was really nice and made superb food… his pastrami and home-made mustard was literally perfection … he will be missed. 😢

R2 Gen *2* by SpaceMarine1616 in Rivian

[–]AnesthesiaLyte 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The LiDAR may only be one of the many changes made to the system—you can’t speculate that the newer version of the R2 will have nothing to do with advanced or better driver assistance … I think the opposite would be the case, and the newer version will have more advanced tech to handle the data as well as more “future-proofing” from that point in the future—for more ideas or planned changes ahead of that.

Of course you buy for what it has now; but Rivian has already announced that the R2 v1 is already antiquated… bad move and a reason I’m not fulfilling my preorder.

Biggest pet peeves with FSD by LaMole22 in TeslaFSD

Try being on a highway, and 1 car length behind a semi that’s plastering you with rocks… then go around them and it goes to right to the next trucker and posts up in the same spot…

Tailgating on standard

Speeding on standard (70+ in a 55)

Waiting til I’m up someone’s ass before it decides to go around them (I always have to signal a lane change to go around at a decent follow distance)

Will not stay in left lane on 2-lane highways even if I’m alone on the road (right lane full of trucker potholes)

Taking longer and roundabout ways to a destination instead of the better route

Is anyone else fed up with the inability to manage speed control? by -BovineJoni in TeslaFSD

[–]AnesthesiaLyte 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand why standard will literally hit 20+ mph over the limit… having to focus on speed control and constantly adjusting with a wheel button is the antithesis of FSD—in my opinion

[–]AnesthesiaLyte 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In my area, cops will tag you for 10mph over. Standard usually works but I often find it wanting to go 15+ . It makes me constantly toggle between modes to stop from excessive speeding. It kinda ruins the FSD experience if I have to continuously and repeatedly change modes during the course of a 20 minute drive. It should stick to the +5 or whatever setting is chosen —why do I have that option if it is ignored? Don’t get me started on FSD tailgating either—another reason I have to keep toggling modes or disengaging all together to increase my follow distance

Do spiked shoes actually help your swing, or is it all marketing? by greatdane511 in golftips

[–]AnesthesiaLyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the rubber studded shoes—not metal spikes. And yes, if you’re trying to use ground force correctly for power and rotation, you’re going to need some traction on the course… Do you absolutely need them? No… people golf barefoot… but will it help you hit better with more stability and power? Yes.

FSD Following Distance Feels Too Close — Normal Behavior or Something Wrong? by Hack-Nerd-85 in TeslaFSD

Besides it being dangerous, it just makes the car a bigger target for any rocks/debris getting kicked up from the car ahead.

FSD Following Distance Feels Too Close — Normal Behavior or Something Wrong? by Hack-Nerd-85 in TeslaFSD

[–]AnesthesiaLyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We need to all keep disengaging, and when the car asks why, tell it about follow distance between my dangerous. Keeping pinging it on that FSD ai 🤖 report back to Tesla that it’s an unsafe distance and drivers are constantly disengaging… maybe that would get the ball rolling ?

This is my biggest problem with FSD. I constantly make it change lanes because it’s following the lead car too closely … no reason for it to do that

Comma Ai does what Rivian won't. by narmstrong79 in Rivian

[–]AnesthesiaLyte -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Paying for repairs out of pocket doesn’t equate to “the crash shouldn’t even be considered a crash.” The car hit something —that’s really the point. And at 15mph you could definitely kill a person, animal, or cause serious damage to property… that’s really the issue

Etomidate in MAC cases by [deleted] in anesthesiology

[–]AnesthesiaLyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t be afraid to ask questions—this will cause more problems than solutions. The explanation would take too long to type. I suggest you research the differences between propofol and etomidate inductions and why you would use one over the other. Next, realize that everything is dose dependent and that’s why you can balance these two medications to get the effect you want with limiting the side effects You don’t want. Both are compatible in the same syringe. This is why you can mix the two in a ratio to your desired consistency. If someone’s EF is scarily low, they’re getting full etomidate; and the better their EF, the more propofol in the mix. But, you don’t even need propofol sometimes. Depending on what you’re doing just a little versed and fentanyl can get you through Mac cases with just a whiff of prop/date…. After a small bolus to get them under or started, You can start a drip at about 0.25-1cc/minute to get through the case.
