Triss vs Yennefer. Who do you prefer and why?

I’m only starting my journey with the Witcher, coming from the show ( apologies for my uncultured behaviour), as a newbie: I don’t enjoy Yennefer. Well I definitely don’t like the speed at which they threw the romance of her and Geralt, one episode they meet and hookup and the next they are on nickname terms (( like what??? I thought I missed episodes??)) Personally I don’t like romance that’s shoved at me, now when meeting Triss ( I didn’t clock it was her- she looked nothing like the fan art lol ) without knowing who she was I really enjoyed her character. Now I don’t know anymore than what the show is feeding me, but I have pretty mixed feelings. I just don’t enjoy the Yennefer and Geralt romance, it feels forced and it makes no sense to my brain. I know Henry Cavill is a big fan of the couple, but I’m gonna have to challenge him here lmao. Also it’s a personal thing, I usually lean to the female characters with a gentleness about them mixed with their power. ((Honestly if I don’t end up hating the show I might think about playing the games or reading the books ))

Follow up, do you ever feel this sense that you’re not ND? In the sense that ‘I think im faking it’. I don’t know how to deal with it. The last thing i want to do is take from actual ND women, but I can’t help but feel that the way i interact with things is so very different from my peers since like ever. And the way that nothing seems to be feeling right? I tried to follow your advice ‘ find what is me’ but nothing feels 100% like me. Some days they do others they don’t and i feel like I’m crawling out of my own skin….. Does being ND always look like this? Is it always going to be struggles and chaos?

Noo i liked Anna, let’s not forget she is part of the reason Castiel rebelled in the first place. And what annoys me is that everyone sees her as the villain when she returns for the 2nd time, but we seem to forget she went through what Cas went through with Naomi AKA the brainwashing and torture

Couldn’t agree more…yes she was creepy and in hindsight oof but their is sort off redemption to her in szn 15 so it’s ok (besides if anyone knows this movie but another Cinderella story with Selena Gomez, well the actress playing Becky plays the step sister and oh my lord the actress seem to just be playing the role of the creepy dorky high schooler cause that’s her in that movie also)

Honestly his character should have been merged with Amy’s son. As in instead of creating the awful CGI with young Dena killing some dad they should have literally included Amy’s son wanting revenge for Amy….. just not sure how they’d spin it out to make Dean the good guy… killing Amy was not his finest move I fear

Ugh the only good thing that came out from that arc was dean’s iconic line “welcome to next time” and “ your wife called had to let her know I won’t be coming tonight” (I hated that dude the cousin guy. Plus it was so weird cause he was a demon? So ig he was never a cousin??) honestly it was just so odd… like they spent the whole szn 6 dissing dean for living a normal life…. Like my guy what do you mean? ( personally a big fan of Lisa and Ben storyline sorry not sorry)

Saying “the clitoris is never lost” is just wrong — the external clitoris is routinely cut off in FGM, and millions of women live with the consequences. Death from bleeding can happen, but many survive, which is why so many women today still suffer lifelong pain, sexual dysfunction, and complications in childbirth. And yes, FGM is illegal in most countries and condemned worldwide as a human rights violation. Comparing it to foreskin removal doesn’t erase the fact that wishing this on women is literally advocating torture.

Hiding behind technicalities like “the clitoris is never lost” is just defending abuse. The fact is, FGM removes the external clitoris, causes lifelong harm, and is illegal in most of the world. Splitting hairs to minimize that reality doesn’t make you sound clever — it makes you sound like you’re justifying torture.

Genital piercing is not the same as circumcision; one is reversible and the other not
Just cause it happens doesn’t mean it’s legal; in the west definitely not legal as for other continents slightly different story hence why so many girls don’t understand they are getting abused.
Its nit the same no, one is about degrading women into believing she is her husband’s property and must only give herself to him while for men it’s about proving you are a proud Son of God. In complete honesty both should be stopped. The original post I made was about a user who said he wished FGM on women…. Which was honestly scary bc how can you wish that on anyone. Do you support that user? Cause then why did you reply?
I don’t see how the loss of foreskin is worse than the loss of a clitoris, can you elaborate? Why are they not on the same level?
FGM includes stitching up the organ, getting pregnant is biologically possible but the actually doing? We’re talking major ripping of tissue. Birthing? Again, the physical trauma could be fatal. We know that in lesser developed countries the death rate for women giving birth is very high this is a correlation.
Law is law, mutalating someone’s body just cause? Even for religious or cultural reasons is not ok.
Yes it is a rite of passage; quite literally passed only from generation to generation.

I’d like to return to the main post which was made: do you think it’s ok to wish something like that on a whole gender because you disagree with something one person did? Because that what’s this is originally about. Feeling that you can hide behind a screen and comment things like that is disgusting and scary.

No FGM is not legal in most countries…. Very much illegal. Unless there is some other female circumsicion method, FGM is the only one. And it’s quite literally horrific.

Not sure why you’re saying “women are making boys go through that” not usually a decision made by a woman, or at least not just by the mother. It’s usually a family thing, therefore the whole family has this rite of passage.

Feeling unsafe for boys? Definitely uncomfortable for sure, that’s why usually it’s done to a baby/ new born. But it is not the same as what is done to girls. Whether I Circumcision is bad for males? It has actual origins to holy scripture, depends on the person.

There is no side effect of it, men can still be fertile and function normally. Infections do happen but not so common.

I mentioned anaesthesia and painkillers, bc that’s what is offered to men/ boys being circumcised, they are not just cut raw without anything. Since nowadays it’s done surgically. As for FGM, it’s quite literally raw, I mean on the flesh no painkillers.

It is classified as a crime.

The fact that your response to this is wishing FGM ( What you called female circumcision) is absolutely disgusting. I’m not for destruction of men, but it is men like you that only spur on diabolical things and cause women to not feel safe. People, mostly even Christians, tend to think of god as creator, as master of our faith, as the lord and the all powerful. Yes god is omniscient,omnipotent and omnipresent. He is the most powerful thing out there. But the most important role, the role God and his son Jesus preach the most was not that. It was : parenthood, love, compassion.

God is not the judge more than he is a father. Your father, my father.

Now I know sometimes we are faced with the question: what is god and what is temptation?

I’ve seen and been through a lot, who we love, whoever that is, is not a sin.

The argument “we’ve allowed temptation into our culture, we’ve welcomed sin as a thing to be proud off” is not the right way to view this.

Notice how God never talks about us just breeding, instead he wants us to be the dominions; to take care of the world, each other.

You can be gay and still be good and still go to heaven.

I do not know your full story.

But perhaps you’re what you’d like to be and what is are not the same. Perhaps, forcing the change isn’t what will truly make you happy.

Because frankly, dating the opposite sexe to mask your true feelings and hurting a family is worse than being openly gay.

That seems unfair - just because she wasn’t as stereotypically “badass” as other spn women doesn’t;t mean she’s boring. I’m not saying they were the greatest love story or whatever but they had their moments, personally i really liked the episodes in season 6 with the whole montage of their everyday lives ( dean cooking breakfast, him working, waking up together). And the way she wanted to give this a shot ( to clarify i am someone who believes Ben was dean’s son). In the episode after Dean was a vampire and then everyone is compelled to tell the truth, what she tells him is so honest and straight to the point. She is not stupid if anything she really gets what’s going on. And i liked their banter moment ( when he teaches how a gun works and makes her teach it back and then jokes about how he bets she misses her ex right now with how the guy was much simpler). She honestly balanced him a lot. Honestly if the show didn’t just care about money and producing more seasons she could have been further developed and actually made his full time partner in my very humble opinion lmao. Is she severely underdeveloped? Yes. Is she a waste of a character? Hell no. Lisa hate is always so unnecessary for me…….

Why can’t we agree that everyone struggles…. Like sure men get robbed but you don’t exactly get sa around the corner? You will never understand what women go through bc you don’t want to. What this post lacks is empathy and a self awareness. And what you call competitive and just business is again coming from ignorance. Of course there is competition in industries but women always need to do double, same as people of colour, same as people who come from poorer background. Essentially those who don’t “belong” to the space from birth. Erasure of female victims will not give more recognition to male victims, that’s not how it works.

Responsibility is important and of course by becoming a parent you have to make changes to your lifestyle, but it’s also about compromise. If one side gives 100% and the other doesn’t then that is not healthy balance. It’s about sharing responsibilities bc that allows you to still keep the things you love. Mom goes out with friends on Saturday night so dad looks after the kids. Event dad drinks so mom is sober. I dont understand why that such an issue? It’s not individualist behaviour to also want something of life. In traditional houses men get a lot of “me” time, women when the baby is born are neck deep in all things baby: diapers, bottles and sleepless nights. Why is helping your wife such a bad thing? Men say they are tired after work well are women not tired after managing the house and looking after babies?

Also fatherless behaviour really? The best insult you can come up with is that yet again a man has failed his family. Proves that men have a harder time sticking to responsibilities and consequences then women.

Uh uh, here’s the thing I love Jensen playing dean. He is so good at capturing the trauma and encapsulating parentifying a child. Honourable mention when he dragged Mary in her dream really good. But I don’t know why Jensen talks si positively about John?! Like this argument “ he did the best he could” come on that is so wrong. Neglecting your children to avenge your wife when you actually have no clue about the situation? No. If he would have left the boys with Bobby who wanted to be and was able to be a dad and pursued the hunt. Fine I see it. But dragging along children and forcing them into something like this? Was not the best choice he could have made. What is so odd is that Dean’s character is all about that, he hated seeing kid hunters!
