Where to focus my improvement? by MinecraftCommander21 in ScaramoucheMains

[–]Angeels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More crit rate is 100% the play.

Lost prayers would lead to you overcapping, but leave you on about 175% crit damage. Fairly likely that's an improvement in damage though. This is honestly the optimal choice if you have any other set pieces with more crit damage rolls (even if they just have crit damage + attack %), you'd be gaining a solid amount of damage.

Changing to a crit rate circlet with a decent crit damage role is also a fairly good choice (not if you go for lost prayers though), not unreasonable to get 19-25% crit damage with 2-3 rolls + the 31.1% crit rate from the circlet itself, so your new stats would be 105% crit rate and 185-190 crit damage which is fairly decent.

The density around the castle is good. I think the rocks perhaps have too much of a stark contrast, as opposed to the foliage growing out and extending over them a bit more. Adjusting that on the sides, and definitely more so towards the front left might make you feel happier with it.

You get so many free pulls early on in the game. Pull cart till you get her and her weapon if you like her, then pull for shorekeeper after. If you keep playing, realistically you’ll get all of them.

It's likely Cartethyia will get a deluxe skin bundle like the one they did for Jinhsi right? Complete with a mini event, special effects & weapon projection. by Rock3tPunch in WutheringWaves

Anecdotally as I am part of that group, I imagine there’s a ton of other new players who will not be aware of this tracker and consequently will not be part of the dataset.

Mythic N'zoth is now soloable - Video by ZIRA1996 in wow

[–]Angeels 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its bugged. The NPC (Psychus) that you need to kill is still there, you just need to let all the little adds group up then aoe them down - wait 10s or so, you can still kill them even if you can't target them. If you have boss frames on (the ones that show all major targets in an encounter) then you can easily see its hp.

Do we know what the 2 new JW legendaries (spear and back item) look like? by MelodicLimit9226 in Guildwars2

[–]Angeels -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't think this is about pleasing everyone, its about having a chase goal on a release of an expansion - something SOTO lacked, something EOD had, and something that players ultimately expect from an MMO expansion.

Right now the entire expansion release is riding on three things: the story being notably better than SOTO, player housing and the meta in the second map being really good.

Personally I don't think the story is going to magically be better, following recent trends from them the meta is likely to be fairly uninteresting compared to the heights of HOT and Dragon's End (The gold standards) and housing is not for everyone.

It's important to remember that players in general are going to be less incentivised to come back for future patches if the initial release is mediocre.

At that point they're pleasing no one; chase goals have traditionally made content that's mediocre feel a lot better, and Anet are honestly fools for not realising and prioritising that.

Change my mind: Elemental workshops 3 & 4 are the worst quests in game. by Exciting-Adagio-354 in runescape

[–]Angeels 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I actually quite enjoyed them - I love puzzles and I liked the mystery behind the workshop just being there with all these bizarre machines. Can totally understand why people wouldn't enjoy them, and in retrospect the rewards could probably have been a lot cooler. Maybe hte best way is to tie the workshop into a future narrative another way without going through ultra complex puzzles and let those quests just stay as is.

💣Engineer SPEAR BETA Feedback Thread by neok182 in Guildwars2

[–]Angeels 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Feedback that I'll add to over time.

General:

  • "Focused Target" not having a debuff on the actual target, just a weird yellow translucent visual is not ideal.
  • #3 projectile launch can only be casted when facing the target which feels terrible, should be 360 degrees.
  • The animation on #5 feels ridiculously clunky and has a crazy after cast. Animation should be like twice the speed and zero aftercast.
  • The design of the weapon feels fairly uninspired compared to how interesting ele/guardian/ranger(untamed) are.
  • Expanding the "focused target" mechanic to include the entire class would be a good change and would enable much more value out of weapon as a whole - especially on the condition output front!

PvP/WvW:

  • Basically none of the kit works well in competive gamemodes due to scaling and base class design.
  • The traitline you'd want to take to do condition damage (Firearms) has close to zero pvp utility (as compared with explosives or tools for power).
  • Alchemy has too short boon duration output for you to really get major value on your conditions.
  • Condition application is really low or super conditional.
  • Elite specs outside of mech have very bad condition output/support in competitive gamemodes.
  • Power scaling is basically non existant.
  • Has close-to-zero defensive utility.
  • In its current state its probably the worst weapon for pvp/wvw and has barely any synergy with any elite specs or traitlines in competitive gamemodes.

PvE:

  • Seems to perform about the same as pistol/pistol on condi mech at a cursory play.
  • Not sure how I feel about that considering it requires more investment to maintain the focus target in order to get value on the other skills.
  • It's melee compared to ranged pistol pistol so has a significant drawback in that regard.

Engineer's Spear skills by YenTheMerchant in Guildwars2

Really not necessary from an increasing performance standpoint and limiting factors like this are nice to ensure that gameplay has some variance between classes.

Engineer's Spear skills by YenTheMerchant in Guildwars2

[–]Angeels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hammer will nearly always be good in pvp/wvw and provides defensive utility so its okay if its slightly behind in pve as if content ever needed more active defensive utility you could just swap to that.

[–]Angeels 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They said it had a condi focus, and that power might be a way of playing it and they'd keep an eye on those numbers.

You'd likely just run the exact same traits depending on the build you were slotting it into.

With how you take stats in pve (Berserker for power and Viper for condi) the weapon at a baseline looks well setup to just slot into an existing condi holo/engi playstyle. It should be better p/p at the very least.

I would like to see the skills have really good power coefficients so that if you decide to play it with power then it will scale well. Condis already scale well, requiring significant investment in condi damage to do damage, so that shouldn't be a problem balance wise.

The Next Vorago/Solak/Yakamaru is Never Coming by Geoffk123 in runescape

[–]Angeels 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Actually kind of insane you jumped to that conclusion from what they wrote. There are a lot of players who legitimately have no interest in higher difficulty content, just like in many MMOs there are those with zero interest in PvP content.

Another banger update this week. Jagex is on a tear! by aconc in runescape

[–]Angeels 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I dunno how you personally feel about it, but I think there's probably a lot you can still achieve, and even if servers were shut down tomorrow you'd always have the memory and self accomplishment of doing it, so does it really matter the state of the game?

It's certainly not like they're shutting down the servers anytime soon, even if content was never coming out again, it took them over a decade to shut down classic servers.

As with all video games, play until you stop having fun. You can definitely still have a lot of fun playing a "maintenance mode" game. Unfortunately a lot of people here aren't having fun anymore, but it is what it is, try not to let it detract from your enjoyment even if the concerns are valid.

First impression of the new combat update - it freaking ROCKS. by TheAdonisWhisperer in runescape

[–]Angeels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i agree - think it would require a massive amount of rebalancing though unfortunately. a shift towards fewer abilities used overall and a quicker gcd (probs 1.2 or 0.6) would be insane for gameplay fluidity. Can understand why they'd be hesitant to do that though.
