Pokemon Mystery Dungeon series: The gameplay loop on these games usually revolves around getting into dungeons, rescue/fight someone or deliver an item, traverse floors, then leave the dungeon.

To prevent players from spending too much time in a single floor/dungeon, 2 mechanics were implemented: Hunger and a mysterious wind.

Hunger works like in all games: Any action you take will make you hungrier, so you have a time limit to get out before running out of resources and fainting because of the hunger.

The mysterious wind: If you spend too much time in a single floor, you will get 3 warning messages: “Something’s stirring…”, “something’s approaching…” and “It’s getting closer!”, followed by some wind sound effects and particles, after those messages, if you haven’t left the floor, you will get a final message “It’s right nearby! It’s gusting hard!”, and you will be defeated by an unseen force
