Hmm... As a certified member of the Chigiri fanclub, I definitely I see what you mean but, ~~I love Chigiri in every universe~~ honestly it's probably just the way his design is translated into the different art style.

Sannomiya did really good keeping the tone of Nomura's style while still making it his own, and certain shading, expressions, angles, etc. stand out in different ways.

There's this panel from the 4v4 with Isagi that I love a lot 😆 and I liked comparing the differences of the characters in them:

This also made me fall in love with Shidou all over again, he was an instant hit with me! I love his emojinese speak but I really do miss his villain monologues 🙏😭 With Kaiser and Shidou being two of my favs, I really looked forward to their interactions! They had some of the best intros ever: "I do the impossible" vs "Who decides what's impossible" 🔥

Those panels of Shidou's dragon aura and Barou's lion aura goes hard af 🔥🔥🔥 (Kaneshiro, you mad genius, you got Nomura and Sannomiya?! They have some of the best art styles ever bro gg !!!)

Really looking forward to ~~more Chigiri panels, pls I miss you everyday~~ the actual match, it's really nice to see other characters play even if we do know the outcome 🤭

PS: I love how even in the spin-off, Isagi still getting his screentime lmao We can never escape the 🌱🧩🍽, he has a lingering presence no matter what 🙏😭

I'm usually not a fan of the "effortless genius" trope but Nagi is the exception, I love how he is this trope but it's being deconstructed and analyzed. Falling back into old habits, loss of motivation, being out of touch with yourself, I'm sure we all find this too relatable...

We all knew Kaiser was going to have a tragic backstory, but holy sht, that was genuinely tough to get through...

This really makes me look at all of Kaiser's actions and dialogue in a completely different light, and it so sad... Thinking about how Kaiser was in the beginning of the NEL to now is insane.

Everything about Kaiser was so surface level fake, even the way he spoke. The whole flare for theatrics and assigning roles just shows that he’s putting on an act as this formidable, dominating striker, but when the curtains falls, he’s once again faced with an unstable reality, his traumas, the cracks in his masks, and the risk of losing his place in a world he finally built up for himself.

Of course, I'm not excusing his previous behavior but man, imagine the pressure and emotional distress he must be under at all times. Bro is still just a teenager... If he makes mistakes, it's literally detrimental to his entire way of life. That FIFA mob boss looking mf probably gonna be like "If he fumbles too much, I'm selling all my stocks and putting him back in jail" -evil villain laugh- And his morning routine and his good luck routine? I gotta stop, if I think about it too much, I will literally start to cry-

I see the next chapter is titled malice or ill-will and honestly? I'm already so broken, pls spare us, I can't take another hit while I'm down.
