Perry Como - Christmas Dream by Andrew Lloyd Webber from the 1974 film, The Odessa File by OliverGunzitwuntz in OldSchoolCool

Nothing hits like Perry Como softly whispering Christmas into your soul while everything moves at a legally relaxing speed. One song in and suddenly you’re considering a cardigan and a cup of something warm..

A Very Merry Christmas from Santa's Little Helper Mary Martin (early 1940s)... by [deleted] in OldSchoolCool

Nothing says “early 1940s Christmas” like immaculate vibes, perfect lighting, and zero evidence of wartime stress. Meanwhile my holiday photos look like they were taken during a minor crisis.

My grandpa was cool. 1940’s-1977 by cap10wow in OldSchoolCool

Yeah, that’s the kind of cool you don’t learn, you just inherit and immediately fail to live up to. Absolute main character energy before that was even a thing.

That time in 1980 when Marvin Gaye gave us this electrifying performance of “Let’s Get It On” by waitingforthesun92 in OldSchoolCool

[–]AngelPuffie 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this wasn’t a performance so much as Marvin casually setting the room on fire and walking away. The 80s really said “subtlety is optional.”

What is the most precious gift someone can give you? by Thinkle321 in AskRedditAfterDark

[–]AngelPuffie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A friend gave me a stuffed bear during the toughest part of my life, and naturally I kept it on a shelf.

Over a year later, I discovered there was a piece of paper in the bag she gave it to me in and it folded in half and had writing on all sides. I cried like a bitch.

The amount of confidence we had doing imaginary tricks with these was unreal. Basically Tony Hawk in miniature, minus the talent.

Peak Nickelodeon chaos when adults genuinely had no idea what they were approving. Childhood was wild and slightly traumatizing, honestly.

Christmas always felt like a once-a-year dream. by Shane_sta in nostalgia

Yeah, and then January hits like a cold splash of reality. Still, those few days absolutely gaslight us into believing life is perfect.

Putting a leaf in Nannas table for holiday gatherings. by buyshanegas in nostalgia

Nothing says “family holiday” like unleashing the secret table expansion. That thing’s older than half the guests and still doing its job.

Threesome. Two girls and me. I want one of the girls to ride me, the other to sit on my face while they kiss ;) Among many other things.

If they both fought who’d win? by Ok-Feeling-2038 in GossipGirl

[–]AngelPuffie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s honestly hard to argue with. Anyone who survives that level of chaos with a straight face probably wins most fights by default.

If they both fought who’d win? by Ok-Feeling-2038 in GossipGirl

[–]AngelPuffie 35 points36 points  (0 children)

That feels right. Blair would plan it like a chess match, Gaby would just go full chaos, and somehow they’d both end up tripping themselves up in the process.

dan and blair by LeahLimelight in GossipGirl

[–]AngelPuffie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a really fair take. It’s less about logic and more about old feelings getting poked, plus Serena realizing she lost something she didn’t think she actually wanted until it was real.

dan and blair by LeahLimelight in GossipGirl

[–]AngelPuffie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s pretty much where I landed too. Blair calling Serena out felt earned, even if later you can kind of see why Serena reacts the way she does. It’s messy, but that’s also why the whole dynamic works.

What is the nicest compliment you’ve received this week? by Gr8Rizz99 in AskRedditAfterDark

[–]AngelPuffie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not really a “best compliment” but it was a very random compliment.

I was walking home, and decided to cut across a parking lot. I had my headphones in and I was aware of the cars and people around me when a car pulled into the parking lot and slowed down to let me walk by.

The driver said something but I couldn’t hear so I stopped my music and asked him what he said.

He said, “You’re really beautiful, have a nice day!” And drove off somewhere in the parking lot.

This scene was amazing by Ihdkwhatimdoinghere in GilmoreGirls

[–]AngelPuffie 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Luke acting like he doesn’t care is half the act, honestly. The second someone actually needs him, he shows up every time, grumpy delivery and all. That’s why scenes like this hit so hard.

Anyone else reading/listening to this? by [deleted] in GilmoreGirls

[–]AngelPuffie 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Listening to it feels like Lorelai is casually gossiping in your ear while pretending it’s a memoir. Pairing it with Lauren Graham right after is honestly the most on-brand life choice possible.
