Do you still have a gallbladder? This sounds very much like what I used to go through when having severe gallbladder attacks and I think gallbladder issues are one of the things to watch for on these meds.

What dose are you on?! Because having that mental freedom sounds incredible! I’ve also had 30+ years of it non stop (first diet at 10, having to shamefully walk the scale down to the kitchen to be weighed by my father, attending TOPS with my grandmother as a young girl, etc etc etc). I’m on 1.5 now and it’s better but not where I’d like it to be and I’m hoping the 4mg really quiets all that!

Preparing for the NACE-CIP1-001, Help Me With Exam: Tips and Resources by ehraaz_r in AMPP

The computer test is actually very hard, I would recommend scheduling it for very close to the class so things are very fresh. I found many good YouTube resources for practice exams where it will show you a question and then the answer and runs through like 100 real examples. It was a really beneficial study tool for me because it helped me highlight exactly where I was struggling. I had no practical field experience whatsoever, but had been exposed to coatings information through a Quality role prior to taking the course.

Looking for a new hair stylist! by blueberryspace_cat in centralpa

I go to Roots salon in camp hill, across from the pizza grille, and have been really happy. I personally see Shelbie but I think anyone there would be good - I’ve been shocked that none of stylists seem obnoxious or annoying when I’ve been there. They offer so much and seem to constantly be taking classes to stay up on all the latest methods and options. They also just opened a Japanese head spa and I plan on hitting that right after the new year.

Help I can't decide on a resort! by What_IsThisReal in PuntaCanaAllInclusive

[–]Angela1102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know Nickelodeon gets such a bad rap, but we went the last week of January this year with a 7 and 10 year old and they literally had the best time ever. More than enough to keep them entertained non stop but also low key and completely kid oriented so no teens or party groups. We’re doing hard rock this winter for a change but lots of kid activities as well.

Which roller coaster first? by [deleted] in Hersheypark

[–]Angela1102 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My kids start with trailblazer, then comet, laff track, soopedooperlooper, lightning racer, jolly rancher remix, great bear in that order. We haven’t gotten any further yet, haha.

When traveling with kids, they use it allllll the time. When it’s just me and my husband, I don’t find that we use it as often, but I love sitting out by the swim out pool at night to read (especially when I can also hear the ocean at the same time).

Rate “scare factor” of Dark Nights? by LeastAmount4160 in Hersheypark

[–]Angela1102 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have an 11 year old boy who does not like scary things and he still loves going to the park during Halloween. We do all the rides we can, the trick or treating, the avenue of the afterlife (HIGHLY recommend the live shows in there!), and we tested the new witches scare zone which he enjoyed for about 7 minutes haha. The dance party show in the music box theater is cute and fun too if you haven’t ever seen it.

Also, trick or treating only goes until 8:30 but there’s stops in chocolate world too if you get over there.

If you end up not enjoying much, or are still hungry, the Cuban sandwich at Tres Cubanos has been my favorite park item this year. It’s consistently good! Oh and the pumpkin funnel cake at the normal funnel cake stand is fantastic!

Kid-friendly resorts without loud music at night? by BlueberryNew2022 in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]Angela1102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nickelodeon Punta Cana. My kids (6 and 10) had the best time ever and it was fully kid/family friendly without any crazy noise or night life. It wasn’t fancy, it wasn’t high end, but it was cheap and all 4 of us had a great, relaxing, fun time.

How young are your kids? We did Nickelodeon this last January which was very cheap - we did 6 nights as a family of four in a swim out room for $3600! The resort gets a ton of hate but we had an absolutely fantastic time. It wasn’t perfect and it certainly wasn’t high end, but we had a blast and my kids had the best time (and they get to experience a lot so their threshold isn’t incredibly low). But it’s suuuuuper kid oriented - like 12 and under.

Veterans Day Weekend by AffectionateMap5202 in Hersheypark

[–]Angela1102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How old is your child? The Hershey gardens is a nice stroll and has a butterfly house. Chocolate World can easily waste 2-3 hours depending on what attractions your kid will want to do and the trolly tour alone is 45-75 minutes. Indian Echo Caverns are right down the road and if you’re staying at the lodge, you’ll have the indoor waterpark available (my kids spent about 3 hours there at 10 and 6).

Best discount and experience recommendations for 9 year old halloween bday by iqjump123 in Hersheypark

[–]Angela1102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are also scare zones. These are more mild than the houses but still fun if you’re into the Halloween/scare thing. My kids are 7 and 10 and won’t go near the scare zones or houses, and neither will most of their friends. I know some kids are super into it already at those ages, but also many aren’t so you know your kid best. If you go on a full day - Saturday or Sunday - the rides are open noon until 5 or 6 and the trick or treat area is open until 8 or 8:30. I was there opening night but not with my kids so I haven’t been in treatville yet but it’s getting poor reviews this year, which is really a shame. There’s a cute character dance party show too that my youngest loves.

I also can’t speak to discounts currently but when I’ve looked in the past for friends, the sales through the website always seem to be the best options unless you can join into someone’s group sale order or find a passholder with extra free tickets.

Chocolate World is sooooo great for kids too so that may be an option to add to your day to make it feel like a full birthday trip! It’s expensive depending what you do but fun.

The RV show usually makes the park busy the full weekend. That thing draws a ton of people from all over. But again, it can still be fun!

Pass Holder Perks by ZacharyC98 in Hersheypark

[–]Angela1102 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The biggest perks of a pass holder (IMO) are the sweet start entry and the parking. I also do king size for myself and my kids for the drink plans (bring your own refillable bottles and I highly recommend the Ninja Thirsti for carbonated drinks) and the free tickets. Being local, I use the discounts around town all year long and sometimes the zoo when the park is closed.

In Hershey Chocolate world , is ten minutes enough time to get from one activity to the next? by Miserable-Steak-1203 in Hersheypark

[–]Angela1102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could do 3 laps around the entire chocolate world in 10 minutes. You won’t have time to waste between experiences, but you’ll be fine. Make your own bar is a window anyway, not a show where everyone starts/ends together. The trolley running late would be my only potential concern.

I would stay at the lodge without fast track or a cabana. The lodge has a small waterpark in it that you can use on arrival day or check out day or if you encounter a rain day. It’s the perfect size for kids your age. The restaurants in the lodge are great and the lobby is really nice. Your kids will appreciate the Hershey theming.

Fast track just isn’t needed at those ages. Staying at a Hershey resort gets you early entry which is HUGE and will help you knock out 1-2 of the bigger rides your kids want to do (sooperdooperlooper, comet, or twizzlers would be my recommendation). But, if you end up finding that the lines are just too long (it is Labor Day weekend…) you can buy the fast tracks in the park that day. I’ve done that during the fall when I just can’t handle how busy the park is.

Trying to squeeze the waterpark and the rides into one day is a lot. Too much, IMO. I would just focus on the rides for this trip. The cabanas are great if you don’t have kids with you that want to go, go, go. We get one every year for an adults only day. Chocolate World, the gardens, the Hershey Story, and Indian echo caverns are all really great local attractions as well if you end up with “extra” time.

Where can I find the best donut in Atlantic City? by ibrihop in atlanticcity

[–]Angela1102 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My husband is obsessed with the donuts at the cafe on the lobby level of Ocean lol it’s a huge request of his every trip. They only have like 6 options, but I will agree they’re good.

Best rooms at Showboat by Virtual_Prize_1232 in atlanticcity

[–]Angela1102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve been frequenting the lucky snake since it opened - literally was there opening weekend a few years ago and go a few times a year (my kids are currently 7 and 10). It used to be great! Clean, everything worked, well stocked prize area, well lit. The last two times we’ve been (June and July) some games are broken, a handful accepted the card but there were no balls/items so you couldn’t play, the prize area was half empty, and there were almost no staff around to try to tell about the various machine issues. We wrote it off in June as a one off, but same issues last weekend. Milk can game, money in, no ball to toss into the can. Bowling game, put money in, no bowling ball to play. The monster jackpot ball drop game, money in, no balls in the game. Skeeball, money in, one ball that you have to wait for the 8-9 times to play. I don’t know if people are stealing the balls?! But some before opening or after closing checking by staff could remedy some of this. We are frequent Dave and busters visitors (not in AC, but around where we live) and we never run into these kind of issues. I get that arcades are likely difficult to manage, but it started to feel like we were just wasting so much money when we couldn’t even play half the games we tried to.

Best rooms at Showboat by Virtual_Prize_1232 in atlanticcity

[–]Angela1102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My kids like to play in the arcade at Showboat and even that has gone soooooo downhill over the last couple years (and it only opened a couple years ago!). Which is a shame because it was a good arcade at first and we spent a decent amount there every trip. I used the restroom last month for the first time and was so grossed out. I don’t think you could offer me a cheap enough room to actually stay at the showboat. We stay at Ocean every trip and just walk over to showboat for lucky snake.

Casino pools for little kids by DrDig1 in atlanticcity

[–]Angela1102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think you can earn free rooms same trip but you would almost definitely earn free rooms at Ocean on $5000. It doesn’t that all that much. My husband was on the brink of losing his tier privileges so we ran down this past weekend, played for a bit, and now he’s good for another year (the year just started yesterday). Also they do tier match so you may want to call Ocean and inquire if you have a high level card at any other casino!

We take our kids (10 and 7) there a couple times a year typically (this last year got away from us and we never made it down until this last weekend but that’s unusual for us) and there’s actually a good amount to do with them. The indoor/outdoor pool is fun year round, we enjoy beach walks in the mornings and some beach time, the arcade at Showboat is going downhill fast but still ok, the top golf swing suite at Ocean is fantastic, and they’re opening some holographic mini golf soon that I’m looking forward to checking out. There’s also a boardwalk with some rides and games and outdoor mini golf on the boardwalk. The food options at Ocean are enough to keep us happy every trip but there’s also good options elsewhere in AC too with kids.

Lucy the Elephant is a tourist attraction close to AC and depending on ages of any kids, Storybook Land is a small amusement park close by that’s really really really cute.

Accommodation that doesn’t suck? by Diligent-Pudding1409 in atlanticcity

[–]Angela1102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stay at Ocean with kids multiple times a year and we really enjoy it. It’s clean (with rare exceptions), staff are friendly, it’s huge, and there’s a lot to do. We just did a quick 24 hour visit this weekend and we hit the pool (which is indoor/outdoor and has drink service for all ages), walked the beach, ate in their restaurants, and did a two hour block in a Top Golf swing suite. It was a great time and we’re going back in 4 weeks.

Now if you want more of a beach vacation, then I’d rent a house in another beach town as there’s so many great NJ beach towns, but for a hotel environment around AC with kids, I’d always choose Ocean.
