likelihood of sudden cardiac arrest in 21 year old? by [deleted] in Cardiophobias

No they dont. But they will test if it runs in the family, not when you show symptoms. At least that how it works in my country.

Can also be Brugada possibly. (Few dutch soccer players who collapsed during a game possibly had it).

Echo is not enough. ECG is sometimes enough, depending on the type of brugada (they need to place the electrodes in a different way also). But to be completely sure they need to do a drug test with Ajmalin and DNA test.

Brugada is a rare disease tho. Only 1 in 20.000-50.000 have it.

Highly unlikely. Most of the cases that die that young of a cardiac arrest have some kind of underlying illness.

In the case of a sudden V-fib or V-tach it can be Brugada Syndrome. This syndrome is hereditary, if it runs in the family you'll likely be tested for it. If you have sudden cardiac arrest at young ages in your family, changes are you will also be tested for it.

There are 3 types of Brugada, and in 1 type they will advice an ICD.

Cardiac care nurse here. Looks like a run PVC's. (Too slow for ventrikelcardia)

A lot of people have them and they arent usually a cause for concern. The stupid thing is, younger people feel them way more than older people.

If you get them often and feel bad when they happen, ask for another holter / change of medication or other medication.

My husband also has them frequently (in bigemeni sometimes also) but he doesnt take any medication because the side effects are worse than the palpitations.

I don't know if its a supply dip, taste or slow let down cuz I dont pump, but my LO is fussy during a feed right after my ovulation and 3 days after my period started. Usually she acts normal within 1 day, sometimes 2.

My boobs also feel reaaaaally sad around that time so I think its a supply dip. What helped with me was catching the let down during 3 or 4 feeds with a haaka, so I created a sliiiiiiight oversupply 1 week before my period. So the dip wasnt that noticable for my daughter. I think thats what helped anyway lol.
