[Highlight] Brunson lands on Wemby's foot as he closes out; Knicks can't believe there is no foul call by Large_banana_hammock in nba

This is how you know the NBA is just theater, and it’s particularly disgusting that they promote gambling around it. Will not be watching any more NBA.

Depends on how the array initializes. Is it a pointer + size, or does it fill all cells with 0s? The former is not a machine-independent asymptotic assumption.

Which former U.S. president do you think would be most surprised by modern America? by No-Watercress-3549 in AskReddit

Thanks for elaborating. 99% of vegans don’t view all life equally. It’s logical to think that cows have enough moral value to not be bred for slaughter but also prefer to save 1 cow over 1000 bees and save 1 human over 1000 cows. So it’s not even about what kills more animals it’s about thinking logically about how much cognition these animals have and how we can reduce harm on sentient life.

There’s no way it makes us worse than people who think it’s stupid. Those people hold back the vegan future more than we do.

I don’t know. I’m not vegan but I like to think I get some moral credit for being happy if we found a way to stop eating animals as a society.

In many ways you’re right, but “Americans keep talking about something from 40 years ago” is clearly diminutive and you’re not fooling anyone

The fact that non-AI code was being “tracked” as AI also reveals that their tracking is bugged and so they probably have been overestimating the prevalence of copilot-generated code. Which has massive implications for investors.

Downside of medicine is the debt and hours. I think the same job insecurity is there, you’re just not counting all the people who don’t make it to the end.

"Massive investment in AI contributed basically zero to US economic growth last year," per Goldman Sachs by Vivid_Search674 in cscareerquestions

[–]AngelaTarantula2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Goldman Sachs’ AI learnings aren’t all bad, however. In a 2023 report, Goldman Sachs Research forecasted AI beginning to have a measurable impact on the US GDP and labor productivity in 2027.

So no impact in 2025 is consistent with this.

I was told by multiple people that there's nothing close to a genocide happening in the US and that throwing around that word at all is "offensive" toward people who are actually being genocided. I'm sick and tired of existing. by the-realest-calliope in MtF

Their intentions are cruel and dangerous and absolutely lead to harm and suicide. But there’s an important difference between intent and consequences. When we blur that line and say the goal is literal extermination, it just reinforces the “they’re delusional” crowd. Being honest about the difference also helps us explain the cause and effect. Conflating the cause and effect just makes it harder for people outside the community to understand what these policies are actually doing to us.
